Thank you. As an author on the Coulter et al. paper, there was definitely a lot of time spent by @michaelecoulter.bsky.social addressing the difference between this work and the Lai et al. work, so it would have been hard not to cite it.

Democracy doesn’t mean whoever wins a slight plurality in the national vote gets to rewrite every American institution to satisfy their own whims. The president is not an elected king. If we let him become one, the project of American democracy is over.

I think also that professorships are like 5 jobs in 1 so there's always something being sacrificed has a lot to do with it.

Also any of the million parks and if there's a farmer's market going on, there will be fun produce to eat.

North Beach, city lights bookstore, exploratorium, and Chinatown is a solid combo.
There's also Golden gate park with museums and all the fun stuff on JFK Rd. Maybe goldwatch for pinball and Haight st with amoeba records nearby. Arsicault for good croissants, inner Richmond for good Chinese food.
