Hey Ethan. Long time fan of your writing, and former Boston-area webdev. Thanks for sharing your story. Well written and rational.
What a terrible horrible no good timeline this has become.
Please take care. The industry needs more folks like you.

Hey man.
Thanks.
That IS an amazing performance. And stellar recording. It doesn’t sound like mush despite so many overdriven parts going at once. Even the drums are perfectly mic’d.
And I like how they’re all dressed like regular guys. Imagine playing guitar in a fleece.

HomePods really solved home audio for me. Two bangin speakers that I play to wirelessly through airplay. That’s all I wanted since airplay launched and they did it and I haven’t had to think about it in six years.

And the use of “uuuhhh”.
The track grooves, it jams, it evolves, but it’s just a loop at its core, with layers added and removed. It’s so simple.

Knowing where things are on the computer seems like the dumbest superpower… but it is very much that.

I like Astro. I wish I had a need for it other than messing around.

I needed this. Thank you.
I made the mistake of trying to watch the film for the first and only time on a delayed Acela and I was mildly hungover.
Needless to say, I did not give it many stars at the time. I feel like it deserves better treatment.

Also it’s weird how many games can’t be played without a wiki now. I can’t abide feeling stuck in a game anymore.

Stardew Valley may as well be instant nostalgia cream for when I’d play SNES games in emulators in my teenage bedroom. Infinite fun with time just melted to oblivion.
Apply directly to the forehead.

My other video games either I’ve played through 90+% of the story and don’t have the multi-hour block of time and energy to beat it (Tears of the Kingdom, Forbidden West) or are roguelike where I’ve plateaued (Hades II, slay the spire)

S1 went hard. S2 all I care about is Juliette and they spend the least amount of time with her story arc. I… I gave up.

I’ve listened to enough hard fork where I can hear that with your inflection perfectly.

This is the kinda thing I’ve been tasked with because my job responsibilities changed suddenly.
But it’s also the kind of problems my brain likes to say “let’s make this as dumbly easy as possible with computers”
