I have been saying this forever, and people always freak out when I do, but: We need a new governing document. And we need to pull an Articles of Confederation -> Constitution 1.0 and ignore the amendment procedures listed in the Constitution to get there.

For once I actually disagree with this. It’s premature. Of course we don’t have the votes for conviction (we’ll likely never have those) but there isn’t yet enough public unrest. Sad as it is, we need to wait for the Wall Street rout to reach Main Street, for DOGE to break COBOL & disrupt SSA, etc.

Thread. We cannot have a legal system where it is simultaneously impossible to dismiss charges against an obviously innocent person and practically impossible to convict white collar criminals if their wealth is great enough they can avoid pretrial detention and play in the courts indefinitely.
