Yes, and it is why people should TAG and FOLLOW her.
Smart and funny people are reluctant to come over here because they imagine limited reach. Now the ability to upload people's content and not give credit makes it a harder sell.
@ellecordova.bsky.social
you absolutely amaze me.
thank you for making ‘vestigial’ great again : much like this country really, not to politicize your art … too much.
👏 👏 👏 🏆🎖️
👏rarely have truer words been spoken more eloquently. Now I’ll spend the rest of my week trying to find a way to insert “vestigial”, into a sentence with this much perfection! Hats off, lady. Full, Victorian ball-gown, curtsy to you 🙂🌸
This is brilliant. Non-native speaker of English here, was never taught to use the Oxford comma, and have never seen an example of it that would come up in normal text.
My only problem with this example is that it is an insult to hookers 😊
But, in real life, wouldn’t that sentence be written as “The dinner party included Trump, Vance and two hookers”? Like, if you said it instead of writing it, what would it be?
Somewhere in the background, the bodies of ¶, § and ⁂ lie discarded, murdered by the psychopathic twins † and ‡ while the schizophrenic ‽ laughs his ambiguous laugh.
The doctor told me that without my treatment, I could suffer respiratory failure and I may not survive. My wife and children need me desperately. These donations are our only source of income.
Please, do everything you can to help. I’m begging you.🙏🫂❤️
Even a small donation or a simple share from you could change the course of our lives and help bring back a piece of what we've lost. You are the light in this darkness the lifeline we hold on to.
Please, don’t ignore us. I truly need you...
Amal and I married after 8 years of love. Our children, Rolan and Omar, mean everything to us. We do our best to care for them. We simply want to live in peace we love life. We once had everything, and in a moment, we lost it all 💔💔...
Dear G.Willow Wilson❤️
I’m Naser from Gaza. I know you have a kind heart. I love life and used to live with dignity.
I’m ashamed to ask, but I urgently need monthly medication costing $400. Without it, I can’t breathe properly I have severe pneumonia and my lungs are at risk.
Please,I need your help.
When I saw that the other night, I wondered if she was here yet, so thank you for reminding me. I hardly ever use Instagram, but I have a highlight reel just for @ellecordova.bsky.social.
It should not ever surprise anyone that the users of a social media platform which strictly limits character usage will attempt to fit as much verbal context as possible within their posts even if it requires them to sacrifice punctuation
Reminds me of “The Well Tempered Sentence: a punctuation handbook for the innocent, the eager, and the doomed” (which yes I had to double check the title wording and if it did have an Oxford comma)
Everything is awful but this came up in my feed. It's brilliant. Things like this will still be around after we somehow defeat the nightmare. Thank goodness!
Have a look at her other creations too. Elle Cordova.
You will not be disappointed and almost certainly will smile!
(Completely justified exclamation in our times).

To me that's deep power than no other punctuation mark in any context can match.
(also if this is all original writing then 'elle cordova' is more than a little cool ;)

But atleast you did include post. I stand corrected.
You are correct, I am a scold if it means wanting people to be credited for their work. I'm sure writers, artists, and creators agree.
In the meanwhile go visit her YT channels to discover her songs and her unique voice !
brilliance.
I'll Take it.

Not a fan of this emojical representation of the symbol.
‽
Thanks dyslexia!!!
No Oxford: The dinner party included two hookers, Donald Trump and JD Vance.
Oxford: The dinner party included two hookers, Donald Trump, and JD Vance.
Only in the Oxford version are you sure that the hookers are NOT Trump and Vance

(But I'm bound by profession to say it does more than just replace "to". The girl gives a couple good examples of where it's useful.)

Atleast YouTube link goes to her account and she gets credit for plays.
Thanks for sharing it!
The Em dash & the En dash are named after their widths.
En dashes are the width of an N
Em dashes are the width of an M
“upper case” & “lower case” were originally references to which (physical) case type was stored in.
The easy to reach “lower case” of common characters or the harder to reach “upper case” of less frequently used characters.
Here is one of many sources that claims en & em dashes are named after the widths of N & M.
I do know for a fact that Enby (meaning nonbinary) is a word coined to be a homophone for NB.

This doesn't actually surprise me.
But my favorite that I will do even if there is room for the full word, is to use “tho” for “though”, which is common in comics.
Think of an introvert who suddenly wants a hug. Hoo boy.
I love smart folks...
I think it's art hitting hard, at its finest.
I love my Oxford comma to the depth and breadth my writer’s soul can reach.
I will never give it up.
Never.

and I will never give up the Oxford comma
"You're vestigial."
Oh that line went _hard_ hard. And this comes from an Oxford comma user.
I'm going to keep doing it.
I am forced to stare in awe.
