Reminds me of how streaming services have almost successfully redefined the word "free", as shorthand for "free with subscription". And "free with subscription" is literally telling you "free costs money". "No extra charge" is better, but "free" sells more units. Ironically.

2> It's not acceptable. The thing is, however, everyone involved does not care. There are people you probably voted for that are suspiciously silent in all of this. I call that being complicit. 1> The current era is post-reality.

"For the price of part of one cheeseburger" "part of" is the operative term here 8^)

That's America's political model. It just so happens Fox News can exploit this for profit. Like, tell your average Fox News watcher that it's owned by immigrants (an objective fact), and it would be like replacing the oil of a BMW with vole cum: a complete breakdown, albeit kinda hilarious.

My spouse just turned 37. She's younger than The Simpsons, and older than FICO scores. Time: It's Fucking Meaningless!™

Me: There's a guy I just found on YT that talks about this stuff, and I like him. I wonder what he thinks. TheRealJims: You're talking about me. That's me. And this is what I think. Me: *nods* appreciated.

My spouse, when she taught, had to navigate people using GPT and just... lying so badly *about* lying that it was painful to hear the secondhand stories. Like, it's painfully obvious when a YouTube vid description is GPT. Just the idea that someone goes "I wrote that" kills me with cringe.

Yes. Yes, exactly this. Because "masculinity" has been defined and redefined over the years to be an ever changing list of things that either make you a man, or make you not a woman. And that list changes depending on who's in charge. Real masculinity un-defines it. "Be a decent human being". Yes.

"I know this is going to sound weird" Nah. Dems are complicit. "We told them they couldn't, but they did anyway, and then they changed the law, so now they can do it legally! What more could we've done?" The people I vote for don't say no to the people I vote against. Why vote?

Movie stars and sports figures have more money than sense, whereas teachers, scientists, and doctors, are maligned and poor as fuck. Column A has now purchased the politicians who are telling you to not trust anyone in column B. FUCK this timeline.

From my days in AA: "What about non-alcoholic beer?" "Non-alcoholic beer is for non-alcoholics."

This is MTG at her most performative. Not when she's in Jerry Springer mode. But when she's performatively outraged about something she 100% knew about, signed in favour of, and does not care about in any way outside of this performance.

Absolutely this.

"Is there a nontoxic version of masculinity" I know there's more to this question, but the fact is, nontoxic masculinity is actively being fought against. Nontoxic masculinity is being yourself in the face of bigotry, and being an ally to those who can't.

My spouse is like 500hrs into the game, and just... never finishes it. She gets to some part of Act 2, and just starts a new game. She finds something new literally every run, but has no idea about Act 3 cause she just... doesn't do it. No real reason. One of her favourite games ever.

Early 2010s, I believe, they were starting to threaten action that said, basically, "if you steal Michael Jackson's music, your punishment will be worse than what the guy that killed him got". THAT energy fucked off right quick, neh? Makes me miss Metallica v Napster.

"the weird comments you're getting on TT" One of the first words out of Jason's mouth was "irrational", and I honestly believe most of those comments were posted before they got to that part of the video.

I dunno if it would be considered ludonarrative dissonance, but half the time I play games, the materials you need to craft the item you want make NO SENSE. "I need to craft a purse" "Ok, well first you need 14 crab shells, and 2lbs of deathfish eggs" "...but why?" "Error * CFD_does_not_compute"

3RD DEXTER BOOK SPOILERS: >>Dexter soon begins to question the Dark Passenger, as he slowly realizes that it's a true entity unto itself, possibly an offspring of the ancient god Moloch.<< en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexter_... This book is FUCKING BAD, and as bad as the show got, I prefer that.

"deserved it" ... rapists get better treatment in America. If you asked me who legitimately deserves this treatment, I'd be at a loss for words. Eye-opening is most definitely a way to describe it.

"What type of shitstain" - who are you performing for? No one's here to watch you pretend to care. You going to screencap that and show it to your friends at lunch? I never said boycott. You practicing your vocabulary? I'm planning on stealing content. My stance is not giving her money.

Yeah. It's sometimes used in media to denote the first in that medium. I'm not saying I like it, I'm just saying I've seen it used as such. Like, if I were to say "Adam West originated Batman on screen", I'd be wrong, but not because the comics came first; West was the 3rd live-action Batman.

I've been adding a k this entire time, as well. Not that it's a real word to be "corrected", it's just weird that there's this pull to add a k where there wasn't one originally. I'm sure there's something linguistically interesting at play. Like how people add "Big" to Jason's latest novel title.

I had to look him up. "Born in Monroe, Washington in 2002, Boone dropped out of Brigham Young University to pursue music." ... that's way too much for me to unpack.

Yes, and no. Yes, in the sense that lots of people with lots of opinions are all of a sudden going to get lots louder. But no, in the sense that it's all irrelevant. If you tune out the discourse (it's surprisingly not difficult to do), you're left with just the show.

"Surprises fans with new [trio]" ... what was the surprise? That Dan, Emma, and Rupert weren't reprising their roles, like some sort of Breaking Bad prequel? Anyway, fuck JKunt, I'll pirate this when it's complete.

Oh, you're correct of course, I just think it's funny. It also shows that Jason's opinion of the movie is probably based on what he thought of the book.

There was a brief time when people were just incredulously staring at the music industry, jaws agape, after figuring out they wanted a harsher punishment for people stealing Michael Jackson's music, than the dude that KILLED MICHAEL JACKSON. What the actual fuck?

Rapists are treated better in America than trans people. The only cis male rapists that play dress-up are religious leaders.
