Your son has been beaten up specifically for being a boy? For not being/dressing/acting like a girl like he was supposed to? Because that's the reality for trans kids. Sometimes they get bullied to death. That's why it matters so much to them.

I imagine your son didn't get beaten up or have to fight for his right to exist as a man in the first place, so yeah, it probably doesn't matter as much to him.

Lots of seats go uncontested over and over.

I want to see it matter. I want to see them fear their constituents not voting for them as much as they fear Trump pulling the financial support out from under them and giving it to the opposition. I want to see remorse, regret, reversal.

Hear, hear! Keep the PDR online for folks who want to look up potential drug interactions or symptoms of adverse reactions, but get rid of the smarmy, glitzy, "all the cool kids are doing provagracoldone, shouldn't you?" kind of rubbish.

Yep, starting with the Joint Chiefs and working their way down. Look for AR 670-1 to revert back to high 'n tight hair, to really sink that in. All the accommodation for different hair types and women's hair and religious exemptions for beards won't matter once everyone's a mediocre White dude.

I'd like to think so. But the level of hate and malice coming from both sides right now toward each other is very high. People are disowning family members for belonging to the other side. And warfighters tend to run conservative. Not all of them, no. Officers and high IQ jobs tend more liberal.

Yes, in theory. But the consequences of being wrong in refusing an order are so grave that Private Snuffy has to weigh off spending the rest of his life in Leavenworth or maybe getting shot on the spot vs going along to get along. Also, remember most soldiers/veterans are conservative.

Why didn't the other governors have her back? At least SOME of them.

Anybody know how the other governors responded to her interaction with monsieur?

This is a bigger blow than the obvious racism of the firing. The Joint Chiefs are the single remaining threat to his coup, so if he installs a loyalist at their head, it's a huge obstacle to any attempt to organize the military in defense of the Constitution.

Chalk one more up for the mediocre White dudes. Got a government full of them now.

It would have been if we had journalists who reported factually and without bias. But with our news media beholden (for some reason) to the orange tyrant, a whole bunch of Americans did not hear about an insurrection. What they heard about was a "peaceful protest". Ongoing problem.

Joke's on them, you can't get to Mars without enough exposure to radiation to give you cancer at this point.

Hahaha um... laughing with you?

Denying them insurance coverage or refusing to cover vaccine preventable illness would be the equivalent in the US. And I agree, as much as it would feel like justice for antivaxxers, it would be a step toward eugenics. At the very least it would get abused politically.

If they do manage to free Ukraine, the orange creature will say it was all part of his matter plan. I hate this timeline.

Good choice. I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 but it's frighteningly like real life at the moment.

Time for the Joint Chiefs to remember their oath.

After this nightmare? Definitely.

That's not who we need to fire up. The GOP stopped courting independents and centrists after Romney lost to Obama and galvanized their extreme right wing. Maybe it's time we courted the actual left and stopped compromising with the right.
