In the hospital, I learned how strong the human body is, what interventions and illnesses it can endure, but also its fragility and limits. It was another nail in the coffin of the illusion that my abilities would last forever. I realized that what truly matters are relationships and their quality.

Když jsem pracoval v nemocnici, poznal jsem, jak je lidské tělo silné, co všechno za zásahy a nemoci vydrží, ale též jeho křehkost a limity. Byl to další hřebíček do rakve namlouvání si, že mi mé schopnosti vydrží věčně. Uvědomil jsem si, že to, co má opravdovou cenu, jsou vztahy a jejich kvalita.

Sometimes I think about how much time I have left in this world and how much space I still have to do something meaningful. I tend to think that it's better to find meaning in everyday life. In the smaller things, in the here and now.
