Non-violent protest is great. Also the odds that anyone who can meaningfully affect the tactics of anything that may go down in LA the next couple days seeing your bsky skeet wanking about how importance non-violence is? Next to none but you sure will look like a dick. Go tell people at a protest.

solidarity with LA. fuck ICE.

“Defund the police” was in fact a great slogan.

This is so true and crazy-making that it needs to be said. Musk's people are *still* deep inside our government, dismantling vital services and stealing data.

Democrats should be doing two things right now: 1) Demanding the release of all the Epstein files, and calling for hearings 2) Calling for canceling all SpaceX contracts

this is like drake and kendrick lamar but they're both drake

To all my friends and family in the LGBTQ community, I love you. I’m proud to know you. I’m here for you. Not just during Pride Month, but also during Wrath Month. You’re amazing.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd. It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.

"Listen, I know that the unholy concentration of wealth in America is a big, big problem, but so is having to constantly say no to people asking for change as I whizz into Whole Foods in my Tesla."

This is a right-wing effort to bully and goad Seattle. As long as Mayor Harrell refuses to intervene to change SPD’s response tactics in which pro-LGBTQ protesters are deemed the violent ones who should be attacked and arrested, the right-wingers will have every incentive to continue.

What is it with bad mayors in ostensibly liberal cities?

It’s affordable housing week! Katie Wilson answers the burning question on everyone’s mind: How is the housing crisis the hidden reason why your slice of pizza costs $8? WilsonForSeattle.com

In Bothell, the two councilmembers who voted against a resolution explicitly spelling out the city's support for LGBTQIA+ people last month have both declined to file for re-election.

Happy May 1st. The value of your labor belongs to you and the actions of the state are best understood as as a coordinated effort to distract you from this. The state fears an organized and unified proletariat like it fears death and rightly so. Power to the workers and power to the people

Look y'all. The NLRA and NLRB restrain the tactics workers can use as much as they restrain corporations. If they become lawless, so should workers.

A bunch of folks showed up to the Bothell City Council tonight to speak against a potential resolution affirming Bothell as a welcoming place for LGBTQIA+ people. Here was Bothell Mayor Mason Thompson's response.

There's a lot of ink spilled on how Democrats should win back low-info voters (particularly young men) with rightward shifts when "stop being weak and pathetic" is the better tack. The reason AOC gets respect from low-info voters is that she doesn't let people walk all over her the way Schumer does.

Cheering myself by imagining the possibility of presidential impeachment. Then looking up the presidential line of succession and ruining my mood:

“How the heck do we pay the bills around here?” Even conservative economists agree we need to fix WA’s upside down tax code. Why is Gov. Ferguson miscalculating how widely popular making the wealthy pay what they owe in taxes is among experts, voters, and legislators?

When we're done with all of this, we should really get rid of: - the two party system - the presidency - the US Senate If we had a parlimentary, multi-party system, we could have elections in months to remove this clearly insane guy from office. Instead, we have to wait almost three years.

The thing about trade deficits, is, odds are you buy a hell of a lot more onions from the supermarket than they buy from you. That is a trade deficit in onions, a huge one because odds are you haven't sold them even a single onion. Imagine getting so angry at this you set fire to the store.

ELIE MYSTAL: “This is what fascism looks like. I don’t know what y’all expected it to look like… People are being abducted and disappeared from our streets. These people haven’t even been charged in court.” 🇺🇸

Continue this stuff. This stuff matters.

It's trans day of visibility, and I know there's a lot of EGREGIOUS FUCKING BULLSHIT going on right now and it's hard to get through, but here's a big high five to the trans folks out there reflecting photons like fucking bosses. Also: Trans rights are human rights.

10+ years of high minimum wage and the results are clear: ✅ Workers make more money overall ✅ Businesses aren't closing because of it ✅ It helps workers handle cost of living ✅ Remains very popular with voters
