As a person living in Canada, I am participating in the Great American Boycott. It is so hard to separate our money from them. But one win that I had yesterday was switching pet food. I swapped from Petsmart to Bosleys (locally owned) and found an equivalent Canadian brand. Win!

Like any good artist, I have several works on the go at any time. This giant one I can work on only during certain hours. It’s a commission I’ve been working at since November and progress has been slow though steady. I’m currently working on the grasses and plants. Looking for Okanagan vibes.

This painting is so maddeningly and deliciously slow to work on. I think it is turning out so good. Mixing accurate greens is an epic challenge for all artists because we work with pigments and pigments have limitations. Each paint includes a different pigment and can only do so much. 1/2

My work in progress - Did you know green is the hardest colour to paint because humans can see more shades of green than any other colour? So it actually requires specialized pigments for me to capture the range of greens and I’m still not doing it 100% but I’m loving it so far!

Enjoy this winter walk in a Cottonwood forest at about 5pm. It was -10 and all the animals were quiet and sleeping. My toesies were freezing but we still managed a 40 min walk.

One of my favourite hobbies is travel. This is Mt Robson, the tallest mountain in the Cdn Rockies. Another one of my passions is indigenous language. The name for the mountain in Secwepemc is Yexyexèscen which means something like the striped rock mountain.
