I was going to do the 30 days of gaming one, but I realised that there were so many questions I couldn't answer, so 30 days of songs, instead.

This is a good assessment of the #ebooks business and Amazon's ending of being able to download your #Kindle books after 26 Feb. If you have a Kindle loaded with books, you've got 3 days to get them all before Amazon's crackdown starts. thecritic.co.uk/dark-clouds/

For anyone on #booksky trying to liberate their #ebooks from amazon and doing it on a Mac, I can now vouch the only workable method for an Apple Silicon Mac involves a trial version of Parallels, a trial version of Windows 11 Enterprise, three plugins for Calibre and an old version of Kindle for PC

I am grateful that so many people found my open letter to Elon Musk moving and want to share it. Some well meaning people are just cutting and pasting it on their social media feeds. I would appreciate it if people would link to the version posted on @democracydocket.com instead. Thanks. Marc

Being on vacation is now a fire-able offense.

This!!! #amazon is a shit company and another reason to #boycott them! I cancelled #prime and m my account and you should too! You can’t sell someone something and then ask for it back like some reverse library bullshit! Also #KOBO is a great option ! It’s 🇨🇦 and 🇯🇵 owned #books #booksky #bookseller

#Polio vaccination in #Gaza has started. WHO teams are on the ground providing support to ensure a quality campaign.

New Pharaoh's tomb just dropped. The tomb of King Thutmose II has been uncovered, Egyptian officials announced on Tuesday, marking the first discovery of a royal resting place since King Tutankhamun’s was unearthed in 1922.

It’s not about left or right, there’s a class war going on, and we’re losing.

This is the result of abortion bans, more women die.

How lucky are we that Bluesky exists during this moment

Fuck Amazon! I have a Kobo ereader. I very rarely purchase from Amazon as they already suck, but have a couple of times in the past bought Amazon exclusive ebooks which I downloaded and converted so I could read on my Kobo. This won't be possible soon. www.theverge.com/news/612898/...

fuck wait

The average person with the flu gives it to around 1.4 people. The average person with measles gives it to between 12 and 18 people.

seems pretty reasonable to me: using facial recognition to help gamblers self-exclude, but prohibiting for using it to track people for marketing/surveillance reasons igamingbusiness.com/...

If you're wanting to FOI a federal minister's office about something, you should do it now. If the current government loses the election or if there's a reshuffle, the documents will suddenly no longer be a "document of a minister". Rex Patrick has been fighting against this but govt is appealing.

X is blocking links to Signal

Goodness, there are only 88 days until the federal election must be held. #Auspol Any Voices of groups that don't yet have a candidate, may we humbly suggest you stop searching and volunteer to help with a nearby voices campaign to help them.

Another bad thing about Trump is he makes a whole bunch of not-so-good politicians (in the USA and across the Western world) look competent and reasonable in comparison.

Browsing microwaves as my old one just carked it. I am surprised that people still buy 700W ones! I thought 800W was the minimum these days.
