Playing with #SAPCAP and #HANA database schema changes.

I discounted @tailscale.com for a while because @liss.bsky.social was the only one I’d ever heard talk about it, and let’s be honest, many (most?) of his computing choices are kind of weird. But I did try it and it has unlocked a whole toolkit of options for remote computing. Really awesome product.

Ok, this is amateur hour. I’d expect nothing more from the owner of this monstrosity, but for the rest of you: 1. Don’t turn the wheels 2. Rock back and forwards to clear a long path 3. Only once you can get up speed do you turn out as you hit the end of the path you cleared

People who write about "this is the wrong fight to pick," never ever actually fight for anything. Feel free to ignore them.

Molly White on the crypto de-banking sham. Really good, detailed overview. www.citationneeded.news/crypto-indus...

Backs up my running theory that bankers are at least as dumb as the rest of us.

These dummies could have had a compliant corporate Dem with literal Uber lobbyists on her staff and instead they did school shootings and measles

Looks like the national Dems interpreted pleas to do something to stop the destruction as, “Fire up the SMS SPAM engine again!”

o3-mini is really good at writing internal documentation - feed it a codebase, get back a detailed explanation of how specific aspects of it work simonwillison.net/2025/Feb/5/o...

Exploring working with Ollama and Open WebUI for local LLMs. Finally getting the new Mac Minis fan to spin up. 😀

Silly OpenAI GPT5 theory that also rings true: GPT5 variants have been ready for months but are just being used to distill into smaller models. Won’t be released until after someone else releases competitive models to guard against competitors using it for distilling.

Crypto bros fretting that Trump getting rich off of a meme coin undermines the credibility of the crypto industry is like meth dealers being worried Walter White made their profession look bad.

All you post-hoc keyboard psychologists who think you can tell from a person's creative works that they're bad actors, shut your lying faces. I know we all have an impulse to make things about ourselves, but, really, this isn't the way. Just stop. There are other ways to grieve (yes, it's grief).

Personally, I’m a big proponent of dumb exercise machines paired with a tablet from a manufacturer you trust. The machine just needs buttons to control things like speed, resistance, and incline, and they are a lot cheaper if you leave off all the software and electronics. 🤷🏻‍♂️

i can think of one word for a dude too scared to say his words with his whole chest

All the kids have migrated to the neighborhood skating rink. I guess winter has truly begun!

this is one of the reasons I do not want to leave my current apartment or this neighborhood. I have USI fiber. I pay $70/mo and have for *years* for wildly fast internet that has gone down ONCE in the 8 years I've had it.

Repeat after me: victims don't have to be perfect or good to be victims. And harassers are harassers.

Back to Mimestream. Mac Mail is just not good enough. Hoping the search freeze issue is fixed!

Slowly seeing a lot of the old Twitter groups I remember at least semi-materializing here. SAP, data and ML enthusiasts, progressives, progressive shit-posters 😬🤣, etc. Nice bonus has been randomly finding a local Twin Cities urbanism community. 🎉

Can’t wait for the DFL Senior Caucus to get behind this basic disability justice proposal. Seniors should prioritize access to safe, cleared walkways.

One obvious thing missing from this piece is that the people bitching about the Twin Cities sure do love our high paying jobs and many other benefits that come from close proximity. WI median income: $75,670 MN median income: $87,556 www.startribune.com/new-resident...
