It's the topic of the last chapter of my book; I show that some school choice policies and arguments date back to Redemption and to fiscal strategies White elites used at the turn of the 20th c, so the racist impact isn't surprising. On choice I enjoyed reading Jon Hale's The Choice We Face #histed

Thanks! I started studying school finance and ed inequality because reality seemed so far from the narratives of education as an equalizer that I had been brought up with. For policy, my work and othersโ€™ show how harmful localized funding has often been (i.e. using property tax to fund schools)
