Val'dran takes a very brief pause to get an overview of the place. If in disguise as something other than drow, he might do it openly, as a drow he's very subtle about it before slinking along unobtrusively. Likely to ask the innkeeper if there's anything interesting happening, then to a corner.

Val'dran was never intended to actually have his eye taken out! I did it in game for the buff, then started pondering it - and, of course, saw the opportunity for some good angst, which always suits him 🖤 The eye allows him to see invisibility - but he can't actually *see* through it. He's blinded.

Val'dran comes from the elements Val (darkness), dar (voice) aun (dance) from kismetrose's drow name generator/overview and together it means "dancing voice in the darkness" - or, as Val'dran generally downplays it to: Sneaky liar. I did actually create the name *before* creating the meaning tho 😂

Val'dran doesn't really think much on vampires one way or another. They exist, good for them, they probably shouldn't try to feed on him. He's not sure his blood is entirely fit for consumption. He coined Astarion as a vamp early, and was nonplussed at his 'revealing' it as if it weren't obvious.

Not sure I would recommend licking Val'dran, but if you *do*, I suppose he might taste like skin, a bit of sweat, something like iron (or outright blood depending on the time and situation) and under that something... musty yet sharp. Makes your tongue tingle.
