Breathtakingly incomprehensible.

Learned today my poster session for the NASA Human Research Program Investigators Workshop was accepted! My presentation is called COSMIC VISTAS AND SPACEFARING CULTURE.

Several Montana Republicans joined Democrats on Tuesday to block a measure that would have barred transgender lawmakers from using the state Capitol bathrooms that aligned with their gender identities.

Chat I had last month with @specolations.bsky.social . Our conversation starts about 20 minutes in. @vaticanobservatory.bsky.social

Fun Thanksgiving with my brother teaching him about snow!

At the American Anthropological Association meetings in Tampa. Finishing breakfast and about to take the Ybor trolley to the convention center…

Oof

Good morning, Bluesky. Today’s #GoodMorningNews: a trial at Washington University’s school of medicine has shown great results for a vaccine that would prevent recurrence for a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer. It’s a small trial, but 3 years later 16/18 participants remain cancer free

Fun couple of days bumming around with my friends from the #vaticanobservatory, including @specolations.bsky.social. Lots of talking, long drives (including one that was half academic senate meeting via Zoom!). Now I'm tired but at least it's Friday!

Yes, this is AI. But I still kind of like it.

I haven’t posted here in a while because it was pretty dead, but I will say hello and see what happens.

I was supposed to go to the American Anthropological Association meetings in Toronto on Tuesday. Instead, I canceled my flight and flew out to California Wednesday morning to spend my mom‘s last two days with her. It was for sure the right decision. I am so sad. Rest in peace, Carlyn Weibel.

One of the highlights of my weekend at Comic Con Grand Rapids was chatting with @georgetakei.bsky.social and getting him to sign this for me! #spaceanthropology #nohashtags

Very well stated. 😆

Sweet.

thespacereview.com/article/4657/1 New article up on The Space Review. Only because people kept sending me the story of these space fossils....

Freaking out mildly about East Coast thunderstorms that are possible tomorrow evening since United and Airlines warned me that there may be problems with my flight to São Paulo, Brazil. I need to get there because I’m giving a workshop on space anthropology Monday morning! Send good vibes, please.

Anyway, here's a post on Bluesky. Thanks to @melissatruth.bsky.social for the invite!
