Trump and Musk, between them, have 18 children (that we know about) with 7 women. Family values, GOP-style.

In 2020, the military was adamant about refusing to get involved in the election. That's why Trump hates General Mark Milley so much. Now, Trump is transforming the military into one that will back him up in 2029. We need to figure out how to prepare for that eventuality.

Firing all of the JAGs (Judge Advocates General)—the top lawyers in each service branch—is just as bad as, if not worse than, firing (most of) the Joint Chiefs.

This is very, very bad. Am working on a write-up, but let’s just say that firing military leaders for blatantly political reasons is wildly inappropriate; firing all the too lawyers is ominous; firing them all at the same time is a terrifying five-alarm fire

So they removed the black chairman of the Joint Chiefs in the middle of his 4-year tour, without cause, and they're seeking to replace him with a white **retired** Air Force three-star general who lacks the requisite experience as a service chief or combatant commander? Huh, how about that

On Friday night, HHS ordered CDC to take down all flu vaccine campaign materials from its website. Materials are starting to come down. For example, a campaign explaining that flu shot can reduce flu severity from "wild to mild" is now offline. Left image is from Friday, right is now Meanwhile...

Musk has wielded the power of an official who would need to be formally appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate, but he hasn’t gone through that constitutionally required process, the states argued. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

The greatest political scandal today is not what Trump is doing. It is the fact that congressional Republicans have given up their role in the constitutional system as a check on the executive branch. If we are in a constitutional crisis, it is as much on Mike Johnson and John Thune as anyone else.

Doing great 👍

Amen.

jamelle is correct

Hey, young, ambitious Democratic politicians, who want to be president one day: now is the time to take some political risks. Go rogue.

Awful: Internal USAID memo instructs employees to refrain from talking to the media about cuts in assistance to the most vulnerable or they may get fired, WaPo reports. Trumpworld knows this is a big political problem for them. Keep the focus on it. New piece: newrepublic.com/article/1915...

Even worse incompetence: they accidentally fired, then apparently today un-fired, hundreds of the people who manage America's nuclear weapons.

This is just one of thousands of harrowing stories told about the U.S. Government abandoning Americans abroad in the USAID shutdown. This is Benghazi times a million. 1/

Donald Trump tried to illegally shut down funding for programs that millions of people rely on. Community health centers, Head Start programs, and charities are still having trouble accessing funds. Meanwhile, the taxpayers are paying for Trump's trip to the Super Bowl.

Trump: [unleashes illegal U.S. government takeover by Russian-influenced oligarch who promptly seizes Treasury data; threatens war with Canada and Panama on the same day] Senator: "I wrote about how we're fighting back in my latest newsletter. Check it out and subscribe so you don't miss a beat."

It’s a coup. That’s what’s happening. It doesn’t matter if it’s only been two weeks. Impeachable offenses aren’t like wine. They don’t need to age.

So where are the lawsuits seeking an emergency injunction?

The most surreal and maddening feature of the campaign was that everyone agreed that high prices were the main issue but the guy explicitly, consistently running on a platform of raising everyone’s prices won voters most concerned about high prices. We hammered this time and time again and yet.

White House reporters need training in asking questions. Not “is Elon Musk doing a good job?” Ask “how and why does Musk have the power to control Treasury?” Damn! FFS!

The DEI caused the plane crash narrative is a distraction. The tariffs are a distraction. Whatever insane nonsense Trump spews that the media will chase like cats chasing a laser light is a distraction. The only story that counts right now is the wholesale hijacking of control of the US government.

Big national media outlet still failing. Headlines suggest some dispute over data access at US AID. *Not connecting the dots with other DOGE moves. *Not conveying illegality. *Not communicating constitutional crisis.

I will give either a limb, or my undying gratitude,* to the first news site that publishes a story detailing the extent to which the DOGE actions are illegal or improper, exactly which laws are applicable, and what legal action would be feasible to reverse these moves. (*I get to choose which)

Well looky here…

They are just topping each other with the suck uppery. Congress passed a law that was started with Donald Trump. Now he’s going to “save” it.

Surrender Greenland, or I will send Eric the Stupid and Junior the Con back.

Someone tell that sanctimonious pixie Speaker Mike Johnson that if he places conditions on California's ability to rebuild, his state, Louisiana, the Welfare Queen of Federalism, won't be able to fix any of its roads because that money comes from the far more successful economy of California.
