Also a good reminder that higher public transit usage benefits everybody, If even a fraction of the hundreds of thousands of trips taken on ETS everyday shifted to car traffic, our city would come to a standstill

We love this program and want it to succeed far into the future, and to do that this program needs to... ✅Be ambitious ✅Improve transparency ✅and most importantly, fund transit priority measures again in the next city budget

This program was introduced in the most recent capital budget in 2023, and we need it to continue in future budgets if we don't want buses to get slower and less reliable as congestion grows

With a budget of just over $7 million, congested sections of our transit network are being upgraded to help them not get stuck in traffic. Priority measures are quick to install and affordable for the value that they could provide in reliability and speed, freeing up more buses and LOWERING COSTS!

The transit service deficit is a long-term issue facing our system, and proactively addressing it should be a major priority for our city council If you want to learn how we can bump our service levels up to our minimum standards, make sure to follow us here and at edmontontransitriders.org

The ETS Annual Service Plan set out service changes for this year, with many low-ridership routes being cut or rerouted to support busier and more crowded routes. This leaves many neighbourhoods with worse service than before, we shouldn't have to pit neighbourhoods against each other for transit

If funding does not keep pace with population growth and suburban expansion, we will see bus service have to be spread over a larger city with more people having to wait longer or walk further to their local bus We want a city that can maintain service AND welcome new neighbours

With the SE Valley Line opening and the 2025 service increases we have taken a big bite out of our deficit, but we are still well below our minimum standards

The city has set itself standards for how transit should operate, but hasn't provided the funding or buses for ETS to reach this minimum level of service! Not only that, but as more and more people call Edmonton home, and new neighbourhoods pop up, this gap will only widen

One of the best things about transit is that everyone has an opinion and wants to share! And don’t worry you’ll definitely get to read through all of these sometime soon without having to zoom in on a windy picture

Yes, Capital Line South is so incredibly busy right now that crowding on trains is a big concern This project is good because it gets the many students and transit riders out of buses along the congested 111th st, but capacity improvements like Terwillegar and Cgy Trl BRT are necessary soon
