For me "the day" was before ubiquitous cell phone cameras, so there are only scurrilous rumors 🧐

I was thinking along these lines: Oiled soles and palms would keep one immobilized, oiled palms would prevent one from throwing things at their host once they realized they were immobilized.

It looks like ♀️ to me. Once I figured out what you meant I can see it, but only when I'm looking for it.

Crom help us: Human's relationship to our own technology is unhealthy and unsustainable, but don't worry I have a technological fix!
I've been a tech guy since I picked up my first sci-fi book, and even I am tired of hearing how the Next Big Thing will Change Everything.

Hi Auntie, tone and context can be slippery, which is why I liked @metalexy.bsky.social's post when I replied, but you can't see that, of course.
My response is really for the insecure posers who will actually refrain from using straws because of this silliness.
Keep fighting the good fight!

Cleary, I should have checked my source, but is there any evidence to indicate that people named Megan are more likely to exhibit whatever it is you think "with these people"?

From 1984 to 1991 more than half the assigned female babies born in the US were named Megan. That's not counting variant spellings.

The quote post tells the whole story, PBS bowed to the fascists and it didn't save them.

TBF cis freedom was never on the table anyway. As a bargain it was alway a bait and switch. I fight for trans rights because it's the right thing to do. I'll fight the other oppressions on their own terms.

We've become so accustomed to sanewashing of the so-called liberal media shading into the North Korean style tonguebathing on the right that I had to double-check.

I clicked the heart to promote your post. I can't really say I loved or liked it, but it needs saying so thank you.

But what if they're cis because of peer pressure at an impressionable age? Or worse what if their parents *groomed* them to be cis?

I can imagine an argument for maintaining the property as an historical site. We need to not forget. But the idea of turning it into a destination resort, for weddings no less, is making me nauseated. Far from a reminder of a shameful chapter in our history, they seem to have created a shrine to it.

This is Zoe waiting for the school bus with my grandson. She would accompany him down the drive and wait with him in the morning, and also would wait for the bus to greet him and accompany him back to the house.

**Community Note**
Doktor Zoom, a writer and Senior Editor at Wonkette, the leftist news and commentary site, was referencing the death of his long-time partner to lingering illness. This post, as a response in context, was perfectly appropriate and anything but frivolous.

I agreed with your first paragraph, being the tail end of the baby boom I've always been baffled by hard right turn my elders took less than 10 years after Watergate.
But your last statement, "We all pay the price" seems to lay MAGA squarely at our feet. But younger voters gave us Trump in 2024.
