I can't help but notice that JD Vance was awfully quiet last week on tariffs, but is all over the internet right now talking about immigration. He keenly understands how politically toxic what Trump is doing on tariffs is—which is exactly why he wants to stay as far away from it as possible.

Best news this week: My client picked up in a New Hampshire ICE raid last month will finally be going home on an order of minimum bond. This is our third successful bond case of the week. Good things are still happening!

tfw you're sitting right on top of a giant blaring cautionary tale

I don't think the world is gonna trust us again until we change how we elect presidents

Favorite moment of jury selection: nice lady went to a Bernie Sanders rally over the weekend in the middle of voir dire and reached out to the judge and said she was all het up and might not be able to be neutral any more. Excused for cause.

So you can take over Greenland and Canada but can’t send a plane to pick up someone you are paying another country to hold for a year? Weird take on sovereignty.

Turned on NPR and they’re talking about slam poetry. I get that they make the programs in advance but the president just said he was hoping to send American citizens to foreign mega prisons. What are we doing?

Good reporting here. Student paper gets what the bigs have missed. White House is actually threatening to defund all of bostons major hospitals www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

This is terrifying in America. ICE agents are showing up masked—these abductions must stop. If you’re going to detain someone, show your face, present a warrant, and proper ID. Disappearing people from their families without evidence or accountability isn’t law enforcement—it’s state-sponsored fear.

“They were careless people…they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness…and let other people clean up the mess they had made…” -- F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby (April 10, 1925).

I liked it when presidents didn't set policy via social media.

I am 104% confident that American consumers replaced the ketchup being thrown against the White House walls this term.

WATCH: “Oh, really? Oh shit. Ok.” A CEO realizes Trump tanked his stock live on an earnings call.

If you don’t think that at some point he’s going to show more interest in the 5,044 nuclear weapons he controls, you’re as deluded as the people who thought he’d never tank the stock market and the economy.

Ghost stories with Gizmo.

Penn State/Wharton School don't need to worry about his transcript now--the stupidity is out in the open.

Republicans in Wisconsin have been silent on the Musk giveaway — but the RNC has warned a group they cannot give ice cream to college students.

One day Trump will not be president and the very powerful people who have spent the last several months bootlicking and capitulating will reinvent themselves for a new era. It is up to us to remember exactly what happened.

Judge Hollander: Govt maintains DOGE is not an agency. If that's true, she goes on, then DOGErs cannot be detailed to agencies: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
