I'll take NYT headlines that make my eyes roll HARD for 500, Alex

Age yourself with a movie you saw in the theater.

Darling images. And a turtle attended!

The last time Joe and I were here, we rode in a replica of the visionary Buckymobile (the Dymaxion). This afternoon we attended the memorial celebration of Mr. Henderson, who loved and cared for this place and its people so well.

In the wealthiest nation on earth, 25% of seniors should not be living on $15,000 a year or less. We should EXPAND Social Security, not cut it. I will soon be introducing legislation to significantly raise Social Security benefits and extend the solvency of the program.

> Walked at least a mile outside each day > Cooked quite a few dinners, & they were delicious > Told Artie & Hobo regularly that they are good boys > Stayed up to speed on "Severance" w/ Joe > Drove the speed limit I hope fed workers give five bullets of random life "accomplishments" in response 💙

Lol my tracked walks are much more maze-like when the Artie sniffmeister tags along

From a FOIA perspective, "the entire federal workforce should write down and email what they did last week" is extremely funny

“Given the multiple levels of failure by this City to not only keep this intersection safe, but to keep the criminal who did this to our daughter off the streets, we’re still disappointed. ... The citizens [o]n the other hand [have] been absolutely amazing in their support for Janae & our family...”

Fascinating choices of who to fire among the heads of services

This guy was so excited when I got home from work a bit ago. He likes to come up and "dance" when I first get home (has me hold his front paws up). He makes life so much better.

Some of today's @stlbworks.bsky.social rock stars #BWorks #EarnABike #MoreKidsOnBikes

The weather is warming and we're here getting ready for a busy day at the shop, including an Earn-A-Bike graduation ride, computer class presentations, another class session with some Learn-To-Ride champions, and more! Let's make it a great Saturday. 🌞

So they removed the black chairman of the Joint Chiefs in the middle of his 4-year tour, without cause, and they're seeking to replace him with a white **retired** Air Force three-star general who lacks the requisite experience as a service chief or combatant commander? Huh, how about that

Someone (perhaps a fellow exvangelical?) help me understand why I still seek out this song? Is it OK to still listen to it, even though I think of it more as a beautiful myth now?

NEW EPISODE! It's strange calling yourself. In which we, along with our very best pal @americanhysteria.bsky.social, unpack Mullholland Drive and mourn and pay our respects to our spiritual Daddy David Lynch. THERE IS AN EXTENDED CUT OF THIS EPISODE ON PATREON AND APPLE PODCAST SUBSCRIPTIONS!

There was some audio clip this week of the husk man (with an M) saying that the "work" he is directing requires "competence" and "care." I can't get it out of my head, because those are very last two words I would ever associate with a heartless, dumb destroyer of lives, livelihoods & whole worlds.

riding a daily roller coaster like we can do it we can do it we can do it oh no wait brace here it comes despaiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr fuck ok we can do it we can do it

Accurate. Edwardsvillians were out representin' today. Small but mighty looking

We've got a handful of spots left in several of our bike and computer courses starting up soon. Learn more and register at www.bworks.org/classes/!

"Given the multiple levels of failure by this City to not only keep this intersection safe, but to keep the criminal who did this to our daughter off the streets, we’re still disappointed that it took this long for the City to step up and do the right thing." -the Edmondson family

Mighty Miss at Chain of Rocks today

Seven years ago this week, a driver in the #STL region blazed through a red light and killed my fellow dancer, Emily, also putting two of her children in a neurological unit for months. Those against actual traffic enforcement in the city & region while saying they are protecting us are failing us.

It's all devastating, all the time, but the firings at national parks are really breaking my heart this a.m. @joebarczak.bsky.social and I spent our first real rest from the early-covidtimes era visiting national parks for two precious weeks in 2021. How dare they screw with these public treasures.

I finally organized some @stlbworks.bsky.social photos I'd gotten behind on sorting through over the past few months. This one is really something, isn't it? It was taken by our lead mechanic on our pumpkin patch ride that nearly 40 kids and family members attended in the fall.

Thread... 😍

What an evening! Please help us congratulate tonight's 11 Earn-A-Computer graduates, who each got to choose a newly refurbished desktop computer shortly before this graduation photo. And shout out to their teacher, Mark, and our computer shop heroes!

“‘He breaks out a pair of golden dice . . . Two dice. They're gold. He says, ‘I'll tell you what Tony, if you could roll a seven, you can take your leave. If you don’t, you resign.’”

What the heck....I've read this story multiple times now and it truly is embarrassing and weird.
