I’m thinking that their more cursorial relatives would probably just reduce another set of legs for efficiency. I’ll consider sketching out these possibilities more and maybe sharing them as well 😅

While having six functioning legs is energy-intensive, I imagine it could be useful for an animal that invests in defense over speed. It makes their underbelly (where the nerve cord is located) hard to reach, and each leg can easily shove or stomp on an attacker.
