Iām not sure what the conversation was, but my mom told me yesterday that the pastor said I could have two of them. And my heart is bursting. To have something my grandmother loved so much, to repurpose them into something beautiful, makes me feel closer to her.

The church needed to replace them decades ago for more efficient ones, but out of respect to my grandmotherās wishes, they waited until they had saved enough money to have them replaced with faithful replicas. And the pastor has saved most of the windows, not knowing what to do with them.

It was very utilitarian and plain, but its windows were undeniably beautiful. Very simple, arched, and with dark purple glass at the very top.

They and several others in the town brought it to life and turned it over to the very first minister that preached under its roof in its new life. My mom and her siblings were baptized in the church. My parents got married there. I rebelliously refused to sing there.

She and my grandfather are responsible for the churchās very existence. They wanted a church in my hometown, so they found an old abandoned church that sat in the middle of a wheat field and moved it to its current spot, then dedicated months to restoring it.

In the meantime, get water into her. Put handfuls of kibble in her bowl of water. We run to Petco and get a thing of beef broth from them when we need Watson to drink water, and we give her a bowl of 1/2 water 1/2 broth. Itās more important to get her hydrated than worry about food right now.
