Does a practical demonstration help?
Zy included of course, and art done by Airu Kitsu.

13. Start to finish I've played a fair few games more than five times, but if there was one I'd most like to play again, probably Breath of Fire III - itself another underrated game. Not the most ground-breaking title but a very solid jRPG overall and I wish Capcom hadn't abandoned the series.

12. It might be a little nuts to suggest since it seems like the sort of thing everyone has, at some point, played at least once, but I think everyone should play a few levels of Tetris just in case they haven't. Good, fun, addictive little game and straightforward puzzles help exercise your mind.

I shrieked. Vocally shrieked and my voice cracked.

11. I think out of all the console systems I've played it's a tie between the SNES and PS2. I don't think I've ever owned as many titles for a single system as those two, nor had nearly as much fun with the variety released on either.

Fingers crossed the lights are back before the heat sets in on the morrow. :<

9. The scene immediately following completion of the Seat of Sacrifice trial in FF14.
10. Deep Rock Galactic has the best overall gameplay to me out of just about any game I've played. It genuinely feels fun no matter what you're doing; a game made by people who seem to just enjoy games themselves.

8. Best soundtrack is a tough one. There are a lot of games with a lot of banger tracks to them that really stand out to me, but if I had to pick one out of all of them I still think it'd be FF6. The music fits the narrative theming across the whole game entirely too well and few others compare.

I think you'd really enjoy it. I loved the backdrop of a literal Podunk, USA and the B-movie set-up carried through the whole game.

6. Clap-Trap out of any of the Borderlands games. Never found him funny, just grated on my nerves.
7. Not a couple in the traditional sense but the professional relationship, respect, and friendship between Mordin and Shepherd on a Paragon path in Mass Effect sticks with me to this day.

4. Valheim. Everyone is banned from looking at my total playtime on Steam.
5. Emet-Selch from FF14. Not justifying his actions but in a very dark moment I could see myself being compelled to go that far for the remote chance of seeing my loved ones again.

1. Moon Patrol on an Atari 2600. Got the console, and close to a hundred games, as a hand-me-down gift from my uncle when I was a wee bairn.
2. Three-way tie between Balthier from FF12, Varric from DA2, and Chris from Suikoden III.
3. Secret of Evermore. Squaresoft USA's only title, loved it.

Be well, man. Too many people having to go to hospital for potentially terrifying things lately. Take care of yourself, first and foremost, always.

I hope they get it fixed quick. The transformer behind our place that, without fail, blows out a few times every summer went out a couple weeks back and the lights were off for close to twenty hours. -_-;;

I really do miss seeing fireflies in the evening. Loved that about living further north.

Might consider reaching out to @sabarika.bsky.social; she may have some advice or tips about this.

Man, ain't that the goddamn truth. Pining for the days I could find places that were anywhere from .50¢ to .70¢ sq. ft for rent.

It's nothing if not thematically appropriate at this point

In terms of 'good' bad movies this is one of my favorite to watch simply because it's such an absurd shit-show that, as you pointed out, somehow also secured almost-giddy upfront branding from a major water park despite the film's premise all but declaring such a place is a death trap for families.

Been here for both Iraqs, all of Afghanistan, and I'm absolutely certain this time will be totally different, guys, just you wait and see, completely different, we'll get it right this time, surely, with the least-competent and least level-headed people at the wheel, just wait and see.

Have a soft spot for all iterations of this track in every game that comes out simply because the old SNES RR was the one thing my brother and I loved racing on together without trying to bludgeon each other with the controllers lol

I witnessed the same; was subsumed in the same. It's crazy to me people who did not grow up in it tend to not believe you when you tell them there are folks out there fantasizing about which cultural monuments they'll destroy first when they, inevitably, conquer this or that place for Christ.

how people are doing. the things they make. the things that brought them joy.
