They often seem to sort people into about 5 categories - white, black, asian, native american and hispanic - I think because of how the US census divides people by race?

They over-hired in 2021-2023 based on covid booms

No one fucking wanted this war to happen other than Putin. Ukrainians don't want to fight this fucking war, they *have* to because the alternative is at best, complete and utter subjugation and displacement or at worst, unimaginable pain, torture and mass death. Why do you not fucking get this.

It all returns to nothing It just keeps tumbling down Tumbling down, tumbling down

Ukraine's conscription is for 25+ IIRC, and Russia is using a lot of mercenaries/contract soldiers. One of the factual things about this war is it's probably the first full-scale war where both countries have rapidly aging populations!

The picture is AI slop as well, it's slop all the way down

Everyone in the UK had one of these in their car.

I've used Motorway before, they put your car up on a virtual auction then the highest bidder arranges the collection. You do have to take photos all around the car inside and outside, and declare any damage etc.

Also the southernmost point in the UK is north of 49.9 degrees and so north of the entire US except Alaska.

The British one of these is that Edinburgh is west of Cardiff by 0.1 degrees. We think of the UK as north-south but it really runs north-west to south-east a bit!

This crap, and the reform "doge for councils" nonsense both tell of MPs and staffers who have been brain-poisoned by yank politics on twitter IMO

The German method is best, just have the president elected by parliament, and then their role is 99% ribbon cutting for new hospitals and whatever

At what point does she become disreputable enough to be uninvited from state events?

The thing is there are things they could be selling positively and they just, aren't really managing to! Workers rights from day 1 in a job, increased renter's rights will both improve things for many many people and both have barely had any press.

Thank you for mentioning after housing costs - housing really is the cause of so much poverty now. We need more housing, social housing, private rentals, housing for purchase. More of it all to bring costs down.

Argh damn, it was Yeltsin who was surprised by ice cream in the supermarket wasn't it

Supermarkets would have them keeling over worse than Gorbechov. Fresh fruit and veg available all year round, 1kg of chicken breast for £6.50. Prime beef affordable for most people.

I think Polanski even has the right policy platform for the moment with Labour endlessly tacking right, but he's just not the right person to lead the party.

You're going to get ads plastered everywhere about hypnoboobs in the next election, it's going to become a joke and put a lot of people who might otherwise vote Green off.

We should really apply an escalator here, every pathetic NIMBY complaint means the children's home doubles in size.

This is all over hobby spaces too - I watch warhammer painting videos and it tries to recommend me chud outrage videos.

This discourse is just baffling to me, a good percentage of the UK's motorways (especially the busiest sections) have speed cameras. Speed cameras are used widely in speeding hotspots too. No wonder US roads are so unsafe.

I hate the one that's an advert for a robot dog with a fake voiceover and obviously fake short video cuts of a real dog

The government writes the speech - so it's them who have chosen which bits are in French and which are in English

The British one is currently the "Lady Usher of the Black Rod"

Interesting parallel with 5 Star in Italy? They collapsed the second they actually had to join a governing coalition and implement policy as their voters were anti-politics

The census does have boxes for White British, White Irish and White Other (with a box to add nationality). Not sure why the police even bothered here, it's not stopped the racist nuts on X from claiming there's a coverup.

Who is this even for? It's in English but the grammar and format so bad it looks scammy. Someone in Russia phoning it in for a paycheck?

Technically when he opens the Canadian parliament he does it as the Canadian monarch, a legally distinct crown from the British one.
