The mass firing of both new hires and recently promoted senior staff within #NOAA, including mission-critical and life-saving roles at the National Weather Service (#NWS), is profoundly alarming. 1/11

Are you someone or know a staff member, scientist or meteorologist affected by the NOAA/NWS layoffs in California? Potentially working on a story for @kqednews @kqedscience.

Hey all! I am hosting a panel at @sejorg.bsky.social in April on weather reporting & climate change. I'm looking to add a panelist who covers a hurricane state. Do you know of a reporter from a state like North Carolina, Florida or Louisiana? The caveat is they need to attend the conference.

Are you a meteorologist or weather/climate reporter attending @sejorg.bsky.social this year? I’m hosting a panel on the changing humble weather report and am looking to find a few more panelists who can talk about the interesting ways (graphics, art, wording) you incomporate cc into your reporting.

Around 10 years ago I almost died because a road not built with climate change in mind was so wrecked it damaged the bus I was on. I knew that I would eventually write a story about how climate change is wrecking roads, and endangering lives. This is me trying to explain that. Gift lift.

CNN interviewed more than a dozen experts, and they said that no fire hydrants would have been able to stop the LA wildfires with the high winds. “I don’t know a water system in the world that is that prepared for this type of event,” said one expert.
