it would be great if we had a democratic party willing to go out and say “this is an insane lie to get you to irrationally hate a minority group trying to just exist peacefully” rather than start throwing us under the bus and twiddling their thumbs

bathroom bills were considered a hugely bigoted overreach a decade ago and the backsliding on trans rights is the result of a sustained propaganda campaign by elites the pendulum can swing back the other way if you try, and anyone who is not willing to do so is showcasing their own bigotry

On Anora: "For us, the Cinderella fantasy is special because we assume the wealth it stands to offer us will remain special once we have it. For them, nothing is ever special for longer than the time it takes to buy it." www.welcometohellworld.com/the-time-it-...

The so-called pro-life, pro-christian party continues to profoundly anti-life and anti-christian. Pretty sure they would have condemned Jesus for not charging for the loaves and fishes if he was around these days.

literally every time I talk to friends

democrats are really going to convince themselves that “a return to normalcy” is what people want when its really “rebuild, investigate, imprison”

Every time a Republican says "waste, fraud and abuse" and it isn't immediately followed up with a demand of evidence it is journalistic malpractice.

I keep trying to fucking tell you people, you cannot "teach Democrats a lesson" by causing them to lose. They will always always ALWAYS learn the wrong goddamn lesson and veer even further rightward.

@faeriviera.bsky.social @dreamsrebel.bsky.social and Émile joined me to talk the epic highs and lows of high school f.....ight clubs. GOTCHA! We're talking BOTTOMS, happy women's history month here on #6DegreesOfStarWars www.buzzsprout.com/1777630/epis...

What an unbelievable coincidence, we'll be having our own Mardi Gras special next Monday, and you'll never ever guess what we're covering for it. 😉 Join us on 3/10 for further thoughts on one of @faeriviera.bsky.social's favorite Disney princesses!

Both in honor of the fact that it’s almost Mardi Gras and what happened to get picked from the shuffle, the new ep is Princess and the Frog with @demisemme.bsky.social @faeriviera.bsky.social @vailtoset.bsky.social and first time guest Ellie! www.buzzsprout.com/2402540/epis...

"'Woke' just means you give a damn about other people." If you missed Jane Fonda's fantastic SAG Awards speech, there's a recap here: people.com/sag-awards-2...

Can’t believe the knives are already out in the stores. The Ides of March gets more commercialized every year.

Say what you want about Kendrick but the fact that people are figuring out what “40 acres and a mule” in 2025 is why any education to black history is important, no matter no big nor small.

He nails it.

In 2017 I would've empathized with people like this. In 2025, what happened in his first term and what he was screaming about during the campaign were trivial to find. Enjoy the consequences of your actions, Trump voters. Don't link me your GoFundMe.

Valuing diversity is not a crime Installing white men in every position of power is not a meritocracy

Hail to the thief. Stealing money from blue states, plundering our own country like it's conquered territory

long been obvious that it should be illegal to buy a company, saddle it with the debt you used to buy it, and begin bankruptcy proceedings. it’s, like, cartoonishly greedy. and every single person even slightly close to power knows all about it, and keeps it legal. hm.

Last week, a number of prominent UK feminists declared Donald Trump a "feminist hero" for banning trans women from playing sports. How did we get here? A new book by @reproutopia.bsky.social explores how reactionary tendencies have created Enemy Feminisms throughout the history of feminism

If you care about black history, independent film, zombies, and biting humor, please back WHITE MEAT on Kickstarter!! @daviddylanthomas.bsky.social is 57% of the way to his goal with 8 days left to go!!

The first and currently only time I've painted the Creature. Poscas again, 2023. Played with a few new ideas in this one that have become staple techniques in my more recent works.

you can look at this and say we're divided or you can look at this and say that a majority of americans oppose every one of these things

Reminder that you don't own the ebooks you "buy" on Amazon. They can take it all away from you with the click of a button, and if they decide to comply with "any mention of queer or trans lives is pornographic," they can digitally burn your whole library.

The measles outbreak in Texas is reminding me of the public letter Roald Dahl wrote about losing his daughter to measles in 1962, just before the vaccine was publicly available.

Exactly what i'm living right now. The most stressing days of my life. Being a solo dev is not relaxing AT ALL ! Please support indie devs !

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

For those of you desperately in need of distraction from today's headlines, here's a photo of a bunny & a chick who are friends.

I feel like we've never really reckoned with the fact that the specific form of American Exceptionalism basically primes us, as a country, to be vulnerable to hucksters like Elon Musk and, indeed, Donald Trump.

I really hate when, the moment a controversy breaks about someone, people rush to say, “I always knew!” or “I always hated their work.” It’s this weird performance of purity, like they need to prove they were never tainted by liking the wrong person. It’s like… people can have liked terrible people.

The big takeaway here is that Reuters won this case against the AI company on grounds they violated fair use—the judge found the AI company was guilty because, in using copyrighted works to generate its output, it “meant to compete... by developing a market substitute.” Huge.

The "Gulf of America" thing is ridiculous, but if the press gives in on this, the administration will just keep pushing - maybe conditioning access on deadnaming people, saying Trump won the 2020 election, you name it. Draw a line in the sand now, while the stakes seem small.

If you'd like to support me and my work during #BlackHistoryMonth as well as the rest of the year, browse my portfolio for Black and queer joy 👇🏽✨ But I'd really love for folks to check out my new indie publisher @bonedustpress.bsky.social Illustrated novels & novellas, preorders opening soon!

This whole system of white supremacy is built to sustain blustering ignoramus men and the credulous young people that support and (usually) look like them. This sustained, monolithic mediocrity is what "DEI" has been fighting against. Thus, the decades-in-the-making backlash we see today...

This. A thousand times this.

Sometimes people just need a little help, a little good will to get them back on track. I saw this posted on a local dry cleaner’s store front window, and I love it.
