Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive): 1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment* 2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything 3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can 4. Citizens march en mass

AOC losing the leadership position to a 74yo white man illustrates that the democrats have learned absolutely NOTHING from last month's election. Why is it so fucking hard for these Dem boomers to get the fuck out of the way? I'm not even saying retire! Just pass the damn baton already!

Remember during Covid when some governors provided regular updates about what was happening? We need regular updates by the best Democratic communicators explaining the reckless incompetence of the Trump bunch and providing the public a picture of how things can and must be better.

The hardest “hard no” I have ever given anything

HBO has declined to renew “Sesame Street” for new episodes. The series that’s been teaching generations of little kids since 1969 now has no studio. Please consider donating to Sesame Workshop to ensure the residents of 123 Sesame Street are still around to teach kids of all needs and backgrounds.

These false claims were trumpeted endlessly on TV and in print. The prosecution and guilty plea of the "informant" who spread those false claims has received little attention. This is how disinformation works.

Hey media, why did it take a murder for you to finally start covering this?

BREAKING: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez today vowed to add abortion rights and gay marriage to Spain’s constitution so they “can never be undone.”

This is a really big deal. Vaccines aren’t just for flu and covid and childhood immunizations. Some of the most promising studies/trials for cancer are vaccines.

I'm tired of Donald Trump and he hasn't even taken office yet.

The latest from South Korea ->

oh no, now donald trump will have license to do the corrupt things hes already done and has been promising to do again

The Biden economy is so bad that Americans just broke Black Friday shopping records and packed airports like never before. Truly awful times we're living in. 🙄

Everyone on this platform who believes in justice—and a Justice Dept that believes in justice not retribution—should contact their senators to demand the rejection of Kash Patel.

Sunday reading: Meet the Ideologue of the “Post-Constitutional” Right I wrote about Russell Vought, one of the architects behind Project 2025, who believes there is nothing left to conserve. He desires revolution – and to burn down the system. This week’s piece:

The “fuck around election” is about to bring forth the “find out presidency”

Peter Thiel was J.D. Vance's benefactor. But they’re both inspired by an obscure software developer who has some truly frightening thoughts about reordering society. newrepublic.com/article/1839...

"Republicans are already normalizing this idea. 'We must rally behind President Trump to secure his third term,' declared Rep. Lauren Boebert on election night. Expect more of the same." What makes you think the GOP would draw the line here?

Quite minor in the grand scheme of things, but one thing I think blue states (and CA in particular) should be doing if we morph into tariffsland is require companies operating in the state (above some size) to list the price of tariffs on receipts separately

America: about to learn who pays the tariffs. www.foxbusiness.com/politics/tru...

If I hear the word mandate one more time……

Can we agree not to forget the fact that Trump is a depraved sociopath, a convicted felon, an adjudicated rapist, an election denier who incited a violent insurrection to illegally hold onto power after losing in 2020, and now he’s after fascist rule and the demise of democracy—i.e., not normal?

“A long-term bet on bitcoin is bullish on the permanent collapse of all institutions, everywhere.” This is the most important part of the crypto story, one ignored by dreadfully superficial coverage. “Bitcoin strategic reserve idea is built on delusion” by Brendan Greeley in @financialtimes.com

Wow. This video is truly eye-opening. Take a couple minutes to watch this. A mind-boggling visual representation of wealth inequality in America. This sh*t ain’t workin’, folks. #TaxBillionaires #UnionsForAll

Sarah McBride: "It is an attempt to distract ... Every single time we hear them say the word 'trans,' look what they're doing with their right hand. Look at what they're doing to pick the pocket of American workers, to fleece seniors by privatizing Social Security and Medicare."

I’m trying to strike a healthy balance between being informed and being oblivious.

In 2023, Vought talked about building a “shadow” Office of Legal Counsel to help Trump 2.0 steamroll internal opposition: “We want to be able to shut down the riots and not have the legal community or the defense community come in and say, ‘That’s an inappropriate use of what you’re trying to do.’”

One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election. Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control

I see we’re in the, “Let’s defund Social Security and Medicare,” phase of Republican over-confidence after an election they won by literally 1%. Go for it, guys. This will totally work out for you.

The news industry is really difficult financially. @bluesky may be a new path forward. Anyone have any ideas how to make it a platform where media companies want to post news first ? And a platform where reporters, commentators, etc can make a living ?
