What's wild is that you can't even tell whether he's lying and Elon never said that, Elon said it to appease him (Trump gets played), or Elon said it and believes it so they're both idiots. None of those bodes well for sane, socially productive decisions. Really, it'll be used to supress voting.

The GOP with minority status has regularly frustrated Dems when they held power. More tactics from that playbook. It won't stop everything but I think it would help with voters. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel there's still a disconnect on resistance. Happy to be wrong if voters love what is being done.

I think my original comment was to someone who asked about how that bill would pass and I noted the messaging angle. I don't think we're truly disagreeing here. I agree they should continue some activities. Optics matter. Voting for any of the nominees (they aren't anymore) was bad.

I didn't say it would get that bill or any passed. I said this is a messaging exercise. Precise examples of action, proposed bills or physically showing up in protest, demonstrate resistance which many voters want to see over "business as usual" behavior and empty words.

Officially proposing a bill still gets it registered and they can point to it. Most of the Dems media appearances have been weak and just platitudes, imo. Those that have shown up a protests and similar clear actions are better. Picking the right media also matters. It's not perfect, but it's action

I can't disagree that far more Americans are apathetic and disengaged than they should be. But you'd be surprised how many federal employees who have been fired or know people being fired were supportive of Trump/Musk. It's be an extended hand to those voters. Every bit helps in the fight.

It's not about it passing. It's about proposing and demonstrating with action that they are fighting for those impacted by the cuts and highlighting who is allowing the cuts to happen. It's a messaging operation. If the GOP happens to help is pass, then it's an extra win getting tangible aid for ppl
