One thing Americans are going to learn about Canada and Canadians: the overstated politeness is not weakness. Canada didn't ask for this, and won't forget it. Most Canadians have zero patience for DJT's brand of bullying. Tariffs or no tariffs, many of us will continue buying Canadian from now on.

People need to hurry up and realize the Dems in Congress aren't going to save you. Fight now while you still can. In 6 months it will be too late, harder to fight, and you will have lost your allies.

This version of America doesn't deserve diplomacy.

Yeah if he doesn't do anything to challenge Trump's threats to Canada - which he won't - he's useless.

Yeah but what are Americans doing about it except shouting their protests into the void of the internet. Your country is becoming more unrecognizable by the day, losing allies, showing it cannot be trusted. Where are the protests, strikes, action? The world watches in horror. We can't fix you.

There was a time when Americans would rise up in protest against this. What happened to that?

I gotta add, Black women saw the writing on the wall and voted accordingly. Protect (and respect) them at all costs. This is national but it's also about values. Let's make sure the Canadian response is clear that this is about progress. The enemy here is broken worldview we must evolve past.

Time for strategic votes for the party most likely to beat the Cons in our ridings. They're the threat. Not a fan of the Liberals, they've supported domestic policy I disagree with, and foreign policy that to me is morally bankrupt. But PP will sell us out entirely. Vote to fight another day!

Trust is a fabergé egg that is built over centuries but can be broken in a careless moment. Canada is and should be re-evaluating this relationship, and America doesn't seem to appreciate that. Sorry, America, we're already dating other people. Fix yourself before you get a reputation.

I will call it this from now on. I'm going to have to learn how to pronounce it, though.

Respect your views here but I would question any Walmart efforts at supporting local as pure economic opportunism. I don't trust them. Look at how quickly they have pulled back on DEI in the US. They were among the first. The buy local because it keeps Canadians in their stores. They'll stop.
