It really depends on the scope of a game because I don't mind sequels, my most anticipated game is a sequel but sometimes it's more of the same which is fine until we're talking about massive 30+ hour open world games, unless it really puts in the effort to be different, it's tiring

I think it also helps that I'm going out of my way to get these games to play them and that they aren't in my backlog?
Also visually they're easier to take in

I don't know what it is but I've been playing some older games since the start of the year and they feel less distracting, easier to start and get into and just more relaxing
Maybe that isn't the case for all older games but it definitely was when I started and finished the original King's Field
