I think this means that I'm officially in a something-athon. Followthon? Expect the Friday night stream to run late and longer streams over Saturday and Sunday (both those days will include gruntwork on mat/XP farming). If ANY time is leftover, it'll go into the continuance missions I've skipped

2) Disable the ability to save and put a 2 hour time limit on the existing "vertical slice 1" software and put it out FOR FREE as a TECH DEMO. Solicit feedback as part of it like they have before in SE1. Give people a chance to see how it runs, what it's like, play with unified grid, not sell it.

If you want to save yourself time, here's the TL;DR: This is a tech demo and not Space Engineers 2 yet. If you want to support Keen Software House, if you're a die hard SE fan and want to support the IP, then get the Alpha, but I would recommend waiting for Vertical Slice 2 to play or pay. (2/2)

Is it nice seeing SE2 formally announced? Sure. Do we have any guarantees that the disasters from SE1 early access won't be repeated? I mean, we're coming up on the 9th anniversary of the Great Cyberhound Disaster of 2015... so I'm going to guess the answer is "No."

Show me survival mode. Show me game options. Show me hardware specs that development and testing is being done on. Show me a robust, solid modding API. Show me you can do proper release management with stable, bug-free mainline versions with opt-in betas for testing the next batch of fixes. (5/6)

The only right move I've seen so far is designing for consoles from day 1, rather than trying to repeat what they did in SE1: Plan to rip out features to make it work on console then have to backpedal with the "experimental mode" crud when the existing user base rose up in protest. That's it. (4/6)

SE1 Early Access breaking the game almost weekly drove many modders away. Many players -- myself included -- bought in early just to find there wasn't much depth to the game. (3/6)

Zero demo of survival gameplay. Features shown likely NOT going to be available in survival like undo/redo. No planets. This is Early Access 2013 SE with a fancy hairdo that falls apart the moment they step out on a humid day. (2/6)
