Masking is sexy. Fascism is not. I really wish folks would stop getting those two things confused. 🍉

"Nobody's protesting!" "Actually people are protesting and marching and doing all of this and the news media just isn't reporting on it." "I guess America is just scared and lazy or probably even wants this." "Motherfucker did you hear what I just said..." "Sigh!"

People are NOT understanding what empty cargo ships from China means. It means no work for dock workers. No work for truck drivers, no work for retailers, fewer dollars circulating. The cascade effect is just mind boggling.

"Why aren't young people protesting?" Consider—because they all got their shit rocked by police and prosecutors last year trying to stop a genocide, and you abandoned them.

ICE can enter anyone’s home, and abduct and deport them to a foreign prison indefinitely because the DOJ says they can ignore the 4th, 5th and 15th amendments. If there’s no due process or protections against illegal search and seizures, none of us are safe.

"They want obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay the longer hours the reduced benefits the end of overtime and the vanishing pension" ~George Carlin

In the wake of what Judge Dugan did (100% legal), now is a good time for everyone to know what she knows: An immigration or administrative warrant is *not* a judicial warrant. You are not obliged to obey it. Indeed, you can let the person out the back door. docs.google.com/presentation...

Huge shoutout to everyone this is what a global boycott looks like. Tesla just reported a staggering 71% drop in profits compared to Q1 of 2024. It’s working. Keep the pressure on.

Children as young as *four* are being put in the position of representing themselves without lawyers/parents present in front of immigration judges in cases that will determine whether they are deported. gothamist.com/news/4-year-...

The federal government plans to eliminate services for LGBTQ youth who call 988, the national suicide and crisis hotline, according to a Health and Human Services budget draft leaked last week.

I just want to close out today telling Merrick Garland to go to hell for what his feckless ineptitude and cowardice wrought upon this country.

Did you know that ICE has only existed since 2003. 9/11 was in 2001. I remember kids suddenly missing from class. A kid on my brother's soccer team got pulled over for a headlight and they deported him and his family over it.

If someone is being kidnapped infront of you and they fail to identify themselves as law enforcement, you have every moral obligation to get involved and stop a kidnapping. You cannot trust some rando in house clothing saying “I’m the cops I swear” and take them on their word.

Sign of the day…

Stop calling it deporting, so MAYBE more Americans will get it. "Deporting" is sending someone back, after due process, to the country they came from, where they arrive a free person. This is human trafficking to a foreign torture prison for the rest of their lives. GET THE LANGUAGE RIGHT.

The fact that an entire administration and fully 40% of America thinks it’s ok to send people to a concentration camp in the middle of nowhere, without an OUNCE of evidence they committed a crime is INSANE! It’s more shocking and frightening than anything I have seen from my countryman.

Last night was the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops. I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III. Remind you of anyone?

Personally, I think it should be front page news for at least a month if a sitting US President is using falsified evidence to try and deny due process to a man who has committed no crime, but that’s just me

If you're non-disabled and are furious about recent ableist comments, one material thing you can do is ask disabled and chronically ill people in your life if they need help with anything. They may say no and respect that, but we live in an ableist society where asking for help is hard.

True facts are true

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

Please repeat over and over: “Bending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.” —Gov. JB Pritzker

Everyone say it together now - Fascism is deeply American. Fascism is deeply anti-Black/Indigenous. Fascism began on this land mass with the arrival of European explorers. Fascism was written into the Constitution. US Fascism has always existed.

The entire discussion around Kilmar Ábrego García should start and end with: they admitted it was a mistake.

And if you've stopped, a place to definitely start again is in all medical settings.

Thank you for going to El Salvador @vanhollen.senate.gov.

Which chicken shit House Dem said this off the record? Which one of you is too cowardly to add your name to this horrid statement? Speak up so we can primary your ass back to the stone age.

This is something we can all do.👇🏼 File a complaint with the FL and DC Bar to have Pam Bondi disbarred for not complying with the 9-0 Supreme Court ruling to return Mr. Garcia from El Salvador.

Notably, in his media availability in El Salvador, @vanhollen.senate.gov truthfully keeps saying that Abrego Garcia was "illegally abducted" and "disappeared" instead of the more antiseptic, and factually incorrect, "deported."

Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive? Because the amount of resistance to addressing his being trafficked gives the distinct impression that either he is dead or what they have done to him is so unspeakable that they cannot afford for him to be freed, seen, or spoken with.

It works. The government here largely works. Because we are so spoiled by how well it works, we are letting a fool convince us it is broken.

If you're a reporter in a White House press briefing as the spokesperson for the government asserts flatly that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a member of the MS-13 gang who's guilty of human trafficking and you sit there silently without shouting out "PROVE IT!" I'd like to invite you to go fuck yourself.

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you. The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

I'm at a democratic town hall in my district. There are maybe 350 people here. I am the only one wearing a mask. Sigh. #covid #disabilityjustice

China is openly mocking us because we are openly mockable right now.

Liberation-minded mantra for parents: I will not surrender my child to this system. I will not surrender my child's future to this system. I will not surrender any child's future to this system. I will not surrender any child to this system.

What is the percentage of Americans that don’t know that their president, IN AN OVAL ROOM PRESS BRIEFING, just talked about sending US citizens to a El Salvadorian concentration camp? How out of touch is the American population as a group? Asking for an entire planet.

More people being diagnosed with autism isn't being "afflicted." It's more kids having a better idea who they are, HHS.

My dead grandparents are in my ear today. "Move. Be patient, but keep moving. Have faith, but keep moving. Go." In case anyone else needed to hear it.

So in the US people went to space yesterday and others got sent to concentration camps. Do I have that right?

🚀🚀

There we go. Support this man.

important context about the concentration camps in el salvador:

Ok sorry but getting on my soapbox to say that this isn’t a u-turn or a 180 or even a pause on tariffs. The MASSIVE tariffs are gone but BIG tariffs are still in place. And more so than before last week. Frame it right.

In the 90s, Toni Morrison found out that one of her books had been banned in a men’s prison because they were afraid it would incite a riot. And she was absolutely delighted. In an interview she smiled and said “how powerful is that?” I want to write books that incite riots and tear down prisons.

Lori Beth Denberg reprised her All That librarian character to do a pro-library, anti-book banning reel and I love it so much??? www.instagram.com/reel/DIK0_bD...

interesting. this would be pertinent information that an opposition party might be blasting out through all of its messaging apparatuses in a coordinated fashion. If such a party existed...
