Super duper unpopular opinion time but I think, yeah, Star Wars is a great fucking movie and I think it's better than The Empire Strikes Back.
Why the hell would I ever give a fuck about Hoth or the force or any of that bullshit if the first movie wasn't the most awesome thing I'd ever seen?

There Will be Blood, Seven Samurai, and Citizen Kane are probably the most objectively good movies I've ever seen, off the top of my head.
Everyone agrees. These are good movies or whatever.
Is Star Wars a "good" movie? I don't know. I know it's partially a love letter to both good and fun movies

I fucking love movies and the strange language of cinema that I don't understand at all.
Even though I've been a part of local productions and I know how it's all done, movies are still a befuddling magic trick that I can't explain.

I kinda stopped keeping up with anything Star Wars related. Everyone putting it out is doing a fine job and everything but I've got TF2 to play and comics to read.
You can still count on me to be there opening night for any Star Wars movie. It was always about movies for me.

The bad?
Well, to start with, this was the end of anything even remotely resembling the original releases on home video.
I ended up breaking free somewhat but this kicked off a new era of being a Star Wars fan acting as a replacement for an actual personality.
