I know what you mean - am I too much of an amateur to be playing with Portra... but then I think, what the heck, it's only a hobby.

Max and friends? I have wondered what their processing might be like. I do like getting my scans back from AW, and choosing which ones to print A4. fatherhilarious.blog/2025/05/gard...

What a lovely camera! I was given a Pentax MX a couple of years ago and have totally fallen in love with film photography. It competes with cycling to be the most expensive hobby in my life.

Additionally I have a loyalty account with Analogue Wonderland, and they have deals from time to time. They have some short shelf life Portra 160 at £11 at the moment. I'll DM you a referral link. @analoguewonderland.bsky.social @robbsutherland.bsky.social analoguewonderland.co.uk

It's a shame the term amateur has some negative connotations ie 'not being as good as professional' when all it should mean is not doing it for money.

I love the weight, it doesn't flap around and sheds water and snow easily. I think of it like my cycling Barbour. Heavy though: but I like that.
