I think Musk taking over twitter was probably the biggest driver. America's resistance to a female leader was probably important also.

I'm sure there are places where shenanigans happened. But there are many states completely controlled by democrats and not using electronic voting. The swing to the right was remarkably consistent across the country, not isolated to swing states or republican controlled districts.
