That’s surely libel.

How does this concern you more than what the IDF is doing? Gobshite indeed.

She’s an art critic for God’s sake. Absolutely bizarre that she is confident enough to talk about this, absolutely bizarre that anyone pays her to do so.

Only ten years late Margaret? How generous of you.

Do you have a single criticism of the article?

It’s time for Sue Gray!

The country isn’t even ready to talk about our ageing population crisis.

It must be so weird for the significant number of cis women who are six foot and over to read this stuff. It’s really not that uncommon amongst younger generations.

I sit next to someone 6’8’’ at work. His posture when sitting is so horizontal that I forget every time what it feels like when we are standing near one another.

Imagine for a moment that she had done the opposite. That a public health expert had said ‘pregnant women’ and Martine rolled her eyes while mangling that quote to refer to pregnant people. Would you be okay with it?
comment in response to post
Dr Mistry is an associate professor at a world leading public health university. Martine Croxall has a geography degree. She intentionally misquoted him.
comment in response to post
She intentionally misquoted a public health expert. It’s a resigning matter on its own.
comment in response to post
She intentionally misquoted a public health expert. She replaced an accurate statement with an inaccurate one, and an inclusive one with a non inclusive one.
comment in response to post
Congratulations on intentionally misquoting a public health expert to make a political point. ‘Our audiences should not be able to tell from BBC output the personal opinions of our news and current affairs presenters on political controversy’. Resign.

You should see what Maya said about trans men going into women’s bathrooms.

I’m not sure Republicans in the US are vibing. They are in a cult and they can change on a dime. Other political groups don’t change their worldview over night because Dear Leader says so.

I do think it’s relevant that she’s actually completely broken the statement. Pregnant is one of several adjectives used in the original statement. By changing the noun, the anchor has excluded not just pregnant people who aren’t women, but also elderly and disabled men.
comment in response to post
It excludes pregnant minors as well.

She of course won’t do any of this herself.

The idea that someone produced this by hand rather than AI is actually terrifying.

It will take a matter of weeks for the media to manufacture consent, if that is what the government decides to do.

Cass is trying to push an alternative bit of research, authored by review advisor Kaltiala. The assertion of methodological flaws in that study is a way of promoting a different, genuinely flawed, one. gidmk.substack.com/p/does-gende... Cass doesn’t understand stats.
comment in response to post
I think you’ll find The Cass Review was independent. Sure it was commissioned by the government and controlled by the government and was used to justify doing what the government wanted to do in the first place and the chair was given a whopping great reward by the government but…

The people making these decisions know they aren’t impartial, they just use the term as a shield for all of their biased editorial decisions. The organisation is rotting from the head.

Surely that’s a bang to rights libel case. Plenty of anti trans orgs and commentators made broad accusations of this - that toxic cloud known as Nick Ferrari claiming that PBs were being handed out like smarties for example - but to suggest it of specific people is outrageous and dangerous.

It’s like a bloody Time Machine what the hell.

If you assume ‘free speech’ advocates are fascist apologists and fascists, you’ll rarely be wrong.
comment in response to post
Clearly a partial success.
comment in response to post
It was never just race. X is also a breeding ground for transphobic radicalism and conspiracy theory. Since Musk took over the platform censors the term cis — how’s that for free speech?

Don’t think he’s covered it so far this week. Iran/Israel is non stop.

Your inaccurate bilge is half way around the world before you’ve even put your trousers on.

He calls for mutual respect, but I’m not sure I sense he has much respect for the people criticising the courts. It’s exceptionally patronising and dismissive, in fact.

Another opportunity for Rowling to distance herself from the fascistic anti trans movement… Any… moment… now.
comment in response to post
Can we skip to the part where she becomes a Tory/Reform MP or peer please. Tired of her bile being presented as apolitical.

For the love of God could you take a maths class.
comment in response to post
That type of ‘liberal’ will see it the precise opposite way. That trans people need to be cut loose because the right is using them as an excuse.

So they only allowed three students to do individual sciences? Surely those are the norm for anyone that wants to do science at A Level or beyond.
comment in response to post
That’s funny. The hardest thing about being cis is also cis people.

Do we actually need centre right parties other than the Lib Dems and Labour?

I can’t understand how anyone watches the way the gender critical lobby behaves and is anything other than revolted. Admittedly the media does a lot to ensure most people never find out.
comment in response to post
Familiar feeling of someone inventing a justification because their true reasoning is outrageous.
comment in response to post
The EHRC is wedded to the gender critical lobby that abuse the lack of moderation on Twitter. Can’t imaging them doing anything unless forced.
comment in response to post
Wait are trans men not prevented from playing in men’s football? How can that discrepancy possibly come about as a result of the SC’s ruling?
comment in response to post
Words actually mean something. Clarity means something. The current situation is exceptionally unclear.

Cowards.
comment in response to post
"A body in charge of safeguarding the right to protest is attacking it; a body in charge of defending free speech is silencing it; and a body set up to protect trans rights is undermining them. The EHRC's failure is a tragedy for human rights and a stain on our international reputation."
