The irony of saying “dumb people want to have the complexity of the world simplified” while referencing IQ is 🤌

So the reality you’re choosing to live in is “nothing could have been done, we ran a perfect campaign.” I think this is the most soulless and hopeless take. Everything was perfectly executed and there was never a way to win? Take the leftists out of your name, you’re just blue

I can absolutely see someone like bill Maher arguing for that position in that time period

And it happens again!
SEVERAL Republicans cross the aisle, vote against a bill that would remove trans kids from their parents.
They do so even after another Republican threatens them with primaries.
29 Republicans flip this time!

This is the core of the disagreement, “what we got” simply does not work. The current state of opposition was not designed to effectively combat fascism. I have more trust in our ability to replace our leadership than I have trust in our current leadership to resist this crisis.

Obligatory and relevant Behind the Bastards bump. Huge fan of Robert and Sophie’s work at cool zone. No podcast has taught me more about methods of radicalization or gas stations drugs. I had to pause the episode about liberal media to write this comment lol

For the record, I hate Jill stein as much as the rest of the grifters I genuinely believe she is a Russian plant. But if we can’t overcome her than of course we’re getting cooked by trump. Fwiw this has inspired me to finally just make this data set once so we can stop using her as an excuse

You cannot say that Jill stein is more responsible for voter apathy than the actions of the candidate. That’s just insane, like I get that these are hard times but seriously, as a fellow Bernie bro… cmon. We need to clean house at the DNC yesterday

Ok just some back of the napkin math:
MI:
Trump: 49.7
J+H: 49.1
GA:
T: 50.7
J+H: 48.9
PA:
T: 50.4
J+H: 49.2
AZ:
T:52.2
J+H: 47.2
These are all percentages oc.
Dude just do the math, it’s not Jill steins fault. It’s like someone complaining about hacks when they actually just suck at the game

Like yeah we all agree it’s a lot of factors. But the idea that a third party grifter had more to do with the outcome of a national election than the positions of the candidate who’s fucking running is pure grade a copium.

This was the argument, whether statistically if you gave all of Jill steins votes to Kamala does she win the election.

You know who else parroted right wing talking points? Kamala harris. That’s the point. Kamala could have made those people show up by not supporting a genocide. If the goal is more people voting for Harris than not backing the genocide was the right move by that metric as well

Here let me spell it out: if you don’t want Donald Trump, you should be leaning on the democrats to be more left, more antiwar and more centered on the needs of their base. He won because the dems ran a weak campaign that they were warned about not because of a single third party candidate

You’re making her the sin eater for the failures of the party. Comparing her national numbers to the numbers needed in specific states is clearly misleading. Saying that her opposition to bombing kids is misinformation is nuts. Fuck Jill stein sure, but Kamala lost because of the campaign she ran.

When are y’all going to learn you can vote for someone and still think critically about their policies? Before the election anyone who said “that’s a bad idea” was called a trumper and now y’all are going after the people who warned you that Republican lite wasn’t a winning strategy. Give it a rest

I did vote for her 🙄. I was opposed to her support of Israel and pandering to the right because I didn’t think it would motivate people to vote and that was correct. She abandoned the base to cozy up to war criminals and billionaires and you’re mad at voters for not getting excited by that lol
comment in response to

Being more committed to arming an apartheid state than the interests of your base doesn’t make for a good campaign strategy. I’m opposed to dems support of Israel because it’s immoral AND because it’s bad strategy, as evidenced by the fact that she ran the exact campaign she wanted and lost

It wouldn’t have changed the outcome at all. She received .4% of the actual vote. You know you can look these things up right? You can actually get more facts and determine your opinion from that instead of just what feels right. You should try it sometimes

Yeah I’m mad at the old white fucks who lost us the election, that includes a ton of legacy dems as well. Let’s try to walk and chew gum, I think we can do it.
