disingenuous to argue that the best referees are generally all white men from a particular area.
best teams set high bars, hire global, and question bias.
no conspiracy or intentionality from PGMOL, but Bad hiring and development practices compound bias and lead to bad outcomes for all.

VAR has ruined the fan experience, and only makes sense if it made decisions better and more consistent.
Cats out of the bag on that one, but the game might have been better without it.

Of course we’ve been below bar, and Liverpool are top notch. That’s not up for debate, and refereeing standards are a league wide issue that didn’t impact this year’s title race at all.

start with asking why half of the referees are from the northwest, none are from London, and very little diversity- racial, or gender, or otherwise, exist amongst a group that should the best of the best.
There are bigger issues here no one is even interrogating, and they impact every club.

despite repeated gaffes from PGMOL, only a few media are asking about the standard of refereeing.
Remove your dislike of Arsenal here, it’s a wider problem. Playing standards are too good to be impacted by poor decisions at this rate.
It’s fair to ask why this keeps happening

“Could it be the PGMOL that’s the problem? Could it be Gary Neville, Carragher, or others like us that are constantly dismissing the standard of refereeing? Could it Howard Webb?
No, no, it must be Arseblog”

TY Tim. As you’ve done, We need to call this out when it happens elsewhere
online discourse is so dominated by an inability to see past the issues affecting your own club- we need to call this out if it happens to spurs, or city. I’ve seen few non-Arsenal fans draw attention to this

Humbly morning gentlemen,
What a game by MLS. I can’t help but feel that we’ll see him at left 8 longer term. Where do you see his best fit position wise?

Understood, but The discussion focused on the conspiracy aspect. The issues surrounding PGMOL aren’t conspiracy, but incompetence
The Guardian does great investigative work. PGMOL has a # of red flags that impact all clubs. It’s worth questioning what’s behind that, outside of social media noise

on the Pod, there was dismissal about the MLS red in the context of numerous other bad calls throughout the weekend. It feels like these should be discussed together. Saying it doesn’t matter because so many other bad ones happened missed the bigger picture of PGMOL that is worth discussing.

Don’t forget the double yellow in 7 seconds to wolves last year, along with not sending off kovacic at the Emirates last season

Is there any example, ever, of a red for this you can point to?
