Indie devs have begun adding a no generative AI stamp to their store pages #AI #GameDev #Gaming #PCGaming

Since there aren't many #Odin and #Raylib compute shader examples around, I decided to make my learning repo public: github.com/missinglinks... The code is probably quite messy, as half the time I'm guessing things, but it might still be helpful to others :D (Final boids count: 40000) #gamedev

AI will never fix our problems, because our problems all already have solutions. The barrier to reaching them is political, not technological.

I just realized that in a world driven by algorithms and AI we are incentivized to be abnormal, weird, unique, and strange. The more we deviate from the norm, the less affected we are by the digital reality forged for the masses. Be weird or have algorithms control your life.

Found on Discord. Felt it was appropriate for the year to come. I don't know the name of the artist. If you know it, please comment.

Here's a resolution anyone can adapt for 2025: Don't use generative AI to make games (or other art). There's a logo by @sykosan.bsky.social you are free to use to let people know that your game is human-made. www.artstation.com/artwork/04PnKY #gamedev

It just hit me: Long after we are dead, even if we are forgotten by the living, a part of us will exist in the liminal space of AI models trained on our social media and shopping behavior.

Should probably start posting here as well: Just released a free playdate game called "Hausbau": a tiny puzzle game, where you create modernist cityscapes. No scores, no timers, just play and listen to some jazzy tunes. Itch.io link: fenchel.itch.io/hausbau #playdate #screenshotsaturday #gamedev

Depressingly, it is in the interest of AI companies to push for legislation that forces their users to label content as AI generated. Only this way, can the AI companies ensure that they don't inbreed their models with AI content, but exclusively scrape true human ingenuity for profit.
