Pride month is still in full swing. Tell lawmakers if they support bills like KOSA that’ll harm LGTBQ+ communities they can’t pride with us! No pride 🌈 in censorship: Fftf.link/cantpridewithus

PSA Neck gaiters are not masks. Neck gaiters are not effective at stopping the spread of airborne viruses. Masks, especially well-fitting ones are effective at preventing infection. Conflating the two is bad because it can encourage politicians to ban masks for the general public.

Harvard says publicly that it’s ‘committed to protecting the rights of its students’ …but it’s still hell-bent on censoring them. theintercept.com/2025/06/20/h...

Mahmoud Khalil is free👏 But he should never have been detained in the first place. “Dissent is not grounds for deportation.” - @aclunationwide.bsky.social interc.pt/4nccuTW

Masking in public is banned in Nassau County but community resistance to these free speech chilling laws is strong.

Stop CSAM + the Take It Down act are two of many bad internet bills that are a threat to privacy and free speech for anyone the government doesn’t like. Make some noise about them: www.badinternetbills.com

🚨Over 180 million passwords for email, social media, health + government platforms were leaked this week. Change your passwords, make sure they’re alphanumeric, and turn on 2FA. www.zdnet.com/article/184-...

There’s a thing called the politician’s fallacy that explains a lot about congressional dysfunction. Here’s why this is especially tricky when it comes to tech + free speech: touchgrass.fightforthefuture.org/congress-rem...

A recent data breach of 16 billion records across 30 databases is one of the largest known breaches in history. It includes databases of Google, Apple, Meta, Telegram, and many more. If you’ve been following me for a while, then continue my recommended actions:

We hope you had a happy and reflective Juneteenth. In the words of the trailblazing pioneer Opal Lee, “you can’t erase history. So, let’s learn from it and be damned sure it doesn’t happen again.” #WePersist

@evangreer.bsky.social spoke with @wired.com about simple, concrete steps protestors can take to make your communications, location + private information harder to access: www.wired.com/story/how-to...

@blumenthal.senate.gov calls US pawns of Big Tech in this article… but it seems like he might be projecting? ctmirror.org/2025/06/17/k...

Critical discussion for activists and vulnerable communities resisting state violence + repression is happening TONIGHT! RSVP at the link below.

TOMORROW:

Time to re-up this little ditty about how to make your Venmo more private. Remember that digital security is not just about protecting yourself, it makes your entire community safer

The Minnesota shooter apparently used data broker websites to find the home addresses of the people he shot and murdered. Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again. Their inaction is deadly.

WEDNESDAY @7pm ET We’re joining @mediajustice.bsky.social, Muslims for Just Futures + @vastudentpower.bsky.social to talk about how activists are combatting free speech suppression and resisting fascist surveillance. RSVP to join: mediajustice.zoom.us/meeting/regi...

Dems throwing LGBTQ+ under the bus... again

It's frankly embarrassing that @blumenthal.senate.gov can't have a substantive debate about his legislation and instead keeps falsely smearing our coalition of dozens of LGBTQ, human rights, and racial justice organizations as "pawns of Big Tech." www.fightforthefuture.org/news/2025-06...

@blumenthal.senate.gov hope you enjoy our billboard truck that’s circulating around Hartford CT during peak Pride month exposing KOSA for the LGTBQ censorship weapon that it actually is! Did you get our P.S.?

Hey Bluesky! Your replies to this skeet from @blumenthal.senate.gov announcing the reintroduction of KOSA (a terrible censorship bill) were so damn good that we threw them on a billboard that's currently driving around his office in Connecticut. www.fightforthefuture.org/news/2025-06...

I'll rise and SHINE at 5 am on a Monday to stir the shit and call out a hypocrite. @blumenthal.senate.gov's betraying the LGBTQ+ community with #KOSA and we aren't gonna let that slide. If you wanna throw down too + you're queer: actionnetwork.org/petitions/yo... If you aren't: www.stopkosa.com

Good morning, @blumenthal.senate.gov. 🏳️‍⚧️

It's Trump's fascist America now, but we've been screaming about the militarization of police and invasive, dangerous surveillance tech harming black + brown communities as it was being normalized under Biden + Obama's administration. We can't ignore who laid the groundwork for these horrors.

ICYMI: your weekly tech speedrun for digital rights

Not to mention that there is still Covid and measles out there in the world

Seeing a lot of folks calling for mask bans in response to violence against protestors by masked ICE + police but let's be VERY CLEAR: Mask bans will not do anything to stop law enforcement- they will be used to give cops more surveillance power + ability to harm protestors with chemical warfare.

This is an alarming escalation and spells out exactly why every organization working for justice needs to STOP HOARDING EMAILS AND DOCUMENTS. Create a strict retention policy right now. If you get a censorious subpoena make sure you have nothing to hand over Use signal with disappearing msgs

CBP: "military drones are supporting our federal law enforcement partners in the Greater Los Angeles area, including Immigration + Customs Enforcement."

Yet another fascist crackdown on masking and mask distribution-- further criminalizing people for exercising their right to health and privacy. Those who've been tracking #MaskBans since the start won't be too surprised. Solidarity with LA protestors and mask blocs! Take action: StopMaskBans.com

With spotify down always a great time to check out the vast musical archives of @archive.org — enjoy it now in case major labels are successful in destroying the archive entirely with their BS suit against musical preservation.
