Thank you for highlighting this distinction. A lot of people are calling for mask bans because of what ICE is doing not understanding how dangerous it to conflate PPE with gaiters. Politicians are already pushing for mask bans and these will likely harm vulnerable people.

Harvard has made no commitments to resisting Trump’s demands for campus mask bans- policies poised to chill free speech + increase surveillance of student Palestine solidarity organizers. See other colleges + universities at risk of mask bans here: www.stopcampusmaskbans.com#take-action

Mask bans are also spreading at colleges + universities as a tool to crush student protests. Track + take action against these here: stopcampusmaskbans.com

Community resistance to mask bans is rooted in solidarity- understanding class, disability and freedom struggles are interconnected and people’s health + privacy are under direct attack. You can track mask ban laws in your state and take action here:

The Kids Online Safety Act is the politician’s fallacy at work: a law to protect kids that, if passed, will actually hurt more kids than it helps—and censor the Internet for the rest of us in the process.

If Big Tech hates #KOSA as @blumenthal.senate.gov says, why do companies like Apple and tech billionaire Elon Musk (who Senator Blumenthal claims is a free speech champion’) support it?

@blumenthal.senate.gov told this reporter that we oppose KOSA because we care about money Big Tech makes off of hurting kids... but we don't take money from Big Tech. He does.

The lawmakers assassinated in MN are not the first victims of murder enabled by the data broker industry. But many of the previous victims were marginalized & unknown: mostly women who were targeted by abusers or stalkers
The tech industry lobbied fiercely against bills that would have stopped this

LGTBQ+ COMMUNITIES ARE UNDER ASSAULT: 901 anti-LGBTQ have been proposed across the US since January, most targeting trans people. But Democrats are still supporting bills that give Trump + his cronies more power to erase us from the internet.
