Smells like

Sing Sing is on Prime. Watch it. I urge you all. Because it’s one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Colman Domingo is out of this world in it and it’ll make you feel every single emotion a thousand times over.

Gene Hackman. It’s Unforgiven for me. Introduced as a seemingly benign, almost comedic character and by the end is genuinely frightening. As scary a force as I can remember in film.

Here’s this week’s cartoon for @theguardian.com www.theguardian.com/football/pic...

What a way to treat people

The Giants look lousy.

Watching Lost in Translation. I like Bill Murray, it turns out, under the same conditions I like Robin Williams. If they’re trying to be funny, the film goes off, but when they play it straight it’s fantastic.

Been jet washing like a pro these past few days. Clearing the paths before I start planting again. Spring is nearly here and I also imagine I annoyed by neighbours, so that’s another bonus.

I’ll never get bored of seeing Man Utd stumble. Such was the tedium of their dominance during my childhood, I enjoy seeing them being shit. Helps that they’re co-owned by the country’s biggest dickheads.

A single Homer, floating in perfume, served in a man's hat. #performanceart

Can’t say I’ve been too impressed by many James Bond films. Liked a few of the Craig ones. Enjoyed the big silly ones more. What I don’t really need is an excess of Bond. I don’t need his school days, the wilderness years or his endless trips to the STD clinic. “It shouldn’t glow, Bond”

Tastes change, of course, but right now I’d happily listen to people telling entertaining stories from their school days for hours and hours. What golden tales there must be. So, keep your White Lotus. I want stories about a kid I’ve never heard of taking a football to the nadgers.

Dragged an old sofa to the road for collection. Pretty sure my neighbours assumed that Hercules had moved in, such was the ease I hauled it along.

For no reason other than I keep thinking of elements of the game I no longer enjoy, here’s the start of an ever expanding list of things I dislike about football. A game that has brought me joy in the past but now I cannot get much enjoyment out of it.

The George Foreman film is fine. Sort of lots of actors doing decent impressions. Feels like a made for TV movie.

Watching a film about George Foreman. Really looking forward to the grill stuff.

I like the way boxers clench their fists in photos so you know they’re boxers. Whenever you pose for a photo you should make it clear what your job is. I think that’s a fun thing to do

Watching the SNL documentary. Loads of audition tapes and the only ones I found funny were the ones they rejected. There’s a certain American humour I find excruciating. Basically improv.

Exeter sadly taking bad penalties. A shame as they’ve been excellent

The last nice football experience I had was at Exeter. An absolutely delightful afternoon at a really friendly club. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there.

I like Peter Kay. I despise people in audiences who attempt to make it all about them. I’m fine with him having people thrown out.

Surprised to hear he did the half time show at the Super Bowl… Wonder if he sang the theme from The Never Ending Story.
