If not for my crippling ambivalence and intense lethargy I’d probably achieve some pretty great things.

‘Orwellian’ -a very clear statement from Dorian Lynskey @dorianlynskey.bsky.social in the Independent.

before email was invented, sometimes you’d get 10-15 pigeons a day with notes about the upcoming “best mattress sale of the year”

If this were Just Stop Oil, there'd have been dozens of arrests, furious denunciations in the billionaire press and, perhaps, long jail sentences. Farmers have a right to protest, and the police respect it. Other people, it seems, not so much. The real #TwoTierPolicing www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/...

This is a flat-out, clear-cut violation of the First Amendment.

oh my god #TheTraitors

An awful response on at least four different levels. Morally and intellectually, she's an absolute shell.

Just in case you were wondering how things are going over at The Spectator, in the opening months of the Paul Marshall/ Michael Gove golden era... These were all published on Monday.

Having not read the sentencing remarks, I’m cautious about rushing to conclusions, but on its face Feathers McGraw appears to be a prime example of the rampant sentence inflation that has led to chronic overcrowding in our zoos and the unedifying spectacle of animals being released early.

BBC basically sitting unchallenged on Christmas Day, absolutely owning it. The politicians who like to speak about how irrelevant it is in an age of Netflix might want to take a moment to reflect.

Not to brag, but I got a lovely new hat for Christmas. A hat that’s beauty was thus that it was promptly attacked and scarred by a dog.

The fences are once again under threat from wind! I’ll get the Go Fund Me up asap.

Well, that’s me scammed. And that was through top of Google legitimate looking links and site. Always check using Trust Pilot kids!

Today I got some wood to help support the ailing fence. Things are, as they say, really hotting up.

Fence is a more substantial repair job than initially anticipated. I could do no more than wave my hammer at it at present. I don’t look at this as a failure, merely failure postponed.

Today I’m going to try and fix a fence. Having never repaired a fence before, I presume this will not go well.

I’ve wondered why I’ve not posted more on here, and I think it’s because I’m waiting until I’ve got something interesting or amusing to say. Clearly my barrier is having interesting or amusing things to say. Instead I’m going to just start posting absolute mundanity.

You better watch out You better not cry You better not pout I'm telling you why, Santa Claus despises weakness

Dick van Dyke is 99 today. He was more or less my age when men walked on the moon; he was already sixty-six when Charles and Eddie had a huge hit with ‘Would I Lie To You’.

This is a real post from a Reform MP, threatening to shut down the BBC because a political humour show made fun of Farage. (As if it's never made fun of other parties' MPs). This man is a disturbing authoritarian who should never hold power.

Meanwhile on LinkedIn: "5 Things I learned about B2B SaaS direct email marketing from the fall of Bashar al-Assad"

Replying to every post about a promotion with "I don't care what they're saying, this is so well deserved, congrats!"

spotify has a new playlist called 'screams'. after 5 minutes you recognize the screams as your own. after 30 you realize you never pressed play

they’ll figure it out if they get hungry enough

Expecting Parents, PLEASE I beg you Please look at what your child's name will be spelled backwards. Sincerely, Marlana

For a time, he was our flag bearer.

I saw a man collapse in the street today so I said 'stand back everyone I'm a social media strategist' and increased his brand awareness just before he died.

'Tis the season. This gingerbread man might make you think twice before taking a bite, though! Photo: Quimmy Shimmy

You couldn't make Blazing Saddles today. You have never made a film before and it would take a long time to figure out.

@lucybehrendt.bsky.social Well, that shows you how well versed I am at using this. I think I did the Bluesky version of a DM to you rather than a post. At least this way I’ve covered both bases.

Discussing Bluesky migration in terms of liberal flight misses the simple fact that most people use social media for fun not influence and this platform, unlike X and cruddified Facebook, doesn’t feel like you’re wading through shit to reach your friends. It’s not that deep.

Brilliant

Picture 10, everyone. You can thank me later. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...

Somewhere at the BBC, a VFX editor painstakingly removes the last shot of Huw Edwards from the Coronation coverage, checks the news, sighs, scrolls back looking for the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Finally pulled the plug and deactivated my Twitter account. I’ll miss what it was but not what it became. Many of the early crowd I loved on there had long since departed so I was only there for the political doomscrolling.
