I'm just going to leave this here... I'd say you might already be aware that Ireland is able to make a lot of money by selling our carbon credits... www.independent.ie/farming/agri...

Interesting... I think we could learn a lot from Nordic countries. Any chance you could send our government an English translated bullet point version of your legislation? We copy everything the UK does because the manual is easier to read 😜

Farmers can buy what's called "bare root" trees and hedge saplings.... So the roots are dormant and can be planted in the winter

Yes. They do. Sadly, Coillte, our agency responsible for forestry went about planting a lot of spruce forest which is not native... Like I say, farmers in Ireland get incentives to grow native forestry in the winter time.

Eh no... That was Cromwell... And I don't think he was a farmer...

Sent you the link to the dept of agriculture. It's all there. Planted the trees with the grant.

There's also a forestry grant... It has to be native Irish trees... Hazel, White thorn, black thorn...

I'll have to get back to you with a link but I can tell you over the years, we've bought bare root winter native plants and planted in the hedgerows of our farm... We also have a field that is now for wilding for at least 10 years...

Rewilding grants have been around a while. Farming in Ireland is heavily regulated.

Farmers constantly being targeted... If it weren't for farmers, Ireland would be covered in concrete. Farmers are the guardians of the land.

It was happening anyway... It just became more important after Fridays scenes in the White House. I understand America would have been welcome to join them...

Interestingly he was gone today... The tent was in a little woodland area in a safe spot by the river. He was there for months but he's moved on...

Is he in Croom?

Surely what he's doing is illegal? It looks like he's hijacked the US IT system? Hoping it's not what it looks like, but not great optics...
