While they drive around in trucks with AC let them go work on roofs in 90 degree weather, or stoop over and pick veggies all day under the blaring sun. Maybe they'll take their masks off then so they can breathe.

Great idea in la-la land. It doesn't account for the great wealth disparities in cities and towns, rich suburbs and poor suburbs, or rural suburbs. It is already a huge problem in school funding.

Your correct with a couple of exceptions: 1) Hospitals are reimbursed for emergency care under Medicaid funds, 2) some state use expansion funds to woman and children that are undocumented, and 3)sometimes refugees or asylum seekers are granted this support.

The male loneliness epidemic started when women realized they were happier without men then they were settling for jerks. Now men are shocked that their choice is to learn to be respectable, respectful, well-rounded, humans or be lonely.

Then, some one has to collect the material to make a basket to collect that edible food that is in those "food forests." And gathering was a constant job. Collecting water, making protective clothing, etc. It was all done by hand. Arrows, bows, stone tools, all work.
comment in response to

But once food was gathered it wasn't simple to "process" for eating. Have you ever made nettle tea, or skinned and dressed an animal? These are laborious and time consuming jobs. Even trapping animals requires following prints until you know the animal's patterns. Take a foraging or tracking class.

Agreed. If ICE comes to your home or stops you and you don't see valid id, not just some 10 cent badge, call 911. Let the police verify they are federal agents.

This is the best idea yet. You can buy the jackets online. Cover your face and then it's ICE against ICE. Where's Waldo.

Why aren't they in the orange groves of Florida or the meat packing plants of South Dakota?

From an evolutionary standpoint I'd have to dispute your thinking. Humans were constantly busy finding food, keeping themselves safe and housed throughout history. We actually have too much leisure time now if you look at it through that lens.

He understands nada. First of all, if you make minimum amounts of money you loose other benefits. Second, it they could, they would. Third, has he seen the most recent job reports? Four, transportation? Five, who is going to administrate all of this? More bureaucracy. Go back to selling fake cures.

But wait. All these people on Social Security are supposed to go out and get a job.

When Trump said he was going to deport a million people and said they would all be criminals folks all shook their heads and clapped. There was no million criminals. This is where you get a million people to deport. From your neighborhood schools.

Think about the trickle down effect. How many jobs are there? If seniors go back to work how many jobs will there be for kids coming out of college?

If I had a $ for every time I've heard this week, "We recommend this medical procedure but check with your insurance bc they may not cover it. They're likely to tell you to wait/see where everything stands in 6 months." Where talking cancer here folks, which will cost them more if it gets worse!

Does he know how many jobs don't give insurance or how many employed people can't afford insurance because it is too expensive, even on the exchange? 35% of people who actually are employed can't afford health insurance.

There is one simple problem with going private sector. They need profit. We pay for that profit. Unless you put a limit on that profit it (which they don't like) It becomes the goal, not providing good product/service. Healthcare should be enough of a proof for anyone.

The book I want to read is a book about the psychology of why these people vote against their own best interests. What is it that he appeals to in them? After all that has happened why do 45% of the country still support him even though many don't like him? I don't think Kamala lost, I think he won.

Tell me what you want them to do. They are speaking out. I see them on SM and TV. But otherwise what exactly would you have them do because Ernst said something stupid at a town hall? Really. They'll use in an ad for sure. It'll be a meme. Sure. But they are doing their jobs. In committees fighting.

My favorite insect. Once I was kayaking on our lake very early morning and a dragonfly settled on my bow and hitched a ride in the sun for awhile. I paddled as quietly as I could (hard because I stink at paddling). Eventually, it just took off. That was years ago. But I still feel it.

Working in education this is a constant struggle. Cities love to hire two types of men to "fix" their schools: 1) ex-military, 2) old CEO's. School systems are not home to recruits going off to war and their purpose is not to ready soldiers. Likewise, they are not for profit. They are for good.
