They crave for IRL community and support. Religion has many, many flaws, but churches/synagogues/mosques offer that in spades and as long as you arenât a total ass, and even then itâs debatable, the support/community stays fairly stable.

2 days after her release and she's back. She found her way. I m now back to being greeted by her every morning.

She told me she would be taking Thoth to a different park 2 miles up the road.
I was devastated. Ibis aren't known for their intelligence. What if she never came back? All I could do was hope she'd find her way. I knew she'd have a permanent limp, so a least I'd be able to know it was her.

They sent a different person than I had previously dealt with. I had originally been assured Thoth would be released in my yard but this person insisted on releasing her at the park.
Part of the park is under construction so she couldn't find a spot she liked.

Every few days I'd get updates from the Seaside Sanctuary that she was healing. After a week, they needed to drain the leg injury as it was filling with pus. It would extend her healing.
6 weeks would go by before I got call.
Thoth is ready for release. She's coming home.

She was going to have to go to the hospital. The hooks were in pretty deep. The bird would live, but might limp or lose the leg completely.
