the republicans and suburban democrats opposed to HB 2025 don’t have an alternative plan to fund our transportation system. they think roads are free and we can just not pay to maintain them

OR house gaveling in at noon, working for 90 minutes, and then recessing for lunch . . . goals

👍

Portland's Residential Infill project, adopted in 2020, took over 5 years to go from beginning to adoption. We must not waste time like that in the midst of a housing crisis. City Council needs to pass Inner Eastside for All *THIS YEAR* @councilorepg.bsky.social @councilormorillo.bsky.social

cheers to jctr co-chair and all around oregon hero @senkhanhpham.bsky.social, who this afternoon advanced out of committee a bill that provides three billion bucks for statewide transit service

every year for the last couple years as we get end of term rulings released I feel like I end up beating the same drum: the supreme court is irrevocably broken, worse than we could ever break it through any kind of reform. time to stop hoping things will go back to normal on their own

sneering ending to a stupid, unworkable, and plainly unconstitutional ruling. cannot express enough how much I hate these people

📣BREAKING HB 2025 -state transportation package- just cleared a hurdle passing out of committee w/ a GOP Rep. Mannix voting AYE. If you support historic funding for safe streets + transit, please email your lawmakers TONIGHT. Subject: VOTE YES ON HB 2025. www.oregonlegislature.gov/FindYourLegi...

School Meals For All didn’t pass at the legislature?? Giving all kids in Oregon free lunches?? What the hell is going on at the State Legislature lmfao we need some reporters to really get in there because this shit is nuts

28 years later is cool because it correctly recognizes that the bicycle is the superior vehicle for the post apocalypse

y’all ever accidentally grab a spooky* biketown bike? * inexplicably covered in cobwebs, origin unclear

I wrote a little post about this daniel-kay-hertz.ghost.io/how-to-get-d...

The Washington Post has ranked the top airports in the country: 1) Portland 2) Long Beach 3) Ronald Reagan Washington National 4) Minneapolis-Saint Paul 5) Seattle Paine Field 6) Rhode Island T.F. Green 7) Albuquerque 8) Indianapolis 9) Salt Lake City 10) Detroit Metro

very succinct summary of a big post-covid problem for the MAX system. also why building the tunnel and doing eastside TOD are way more important at this point than expanding westside service to try to bring in more suburban commuters
