By the way, in case anyone was wondering, the Senate President just sent out a list of appointees for a bunch of committees with the session listed as “2025 Interim”. No reason to do that day of sine die unless you were needing an emergency session pretty soon after. #orpol

oregon legislature now set to retire with no transportation funding passed at all. mark meek is likely to be singlehandedly responsible for thousands of layoffs across the state

fantino, on division, btw. great date spot. you can take the fx2 there. for now

HB 2025 WAS the compromise it brings me no joy to say this but we must now proceed to our backup revenue strategy of tolling Mark Meek’s driveway at $10k a pop 😔

trans people call their hormones "t" and "e." i'm gonna start calling my insulin "i." just picked up my i and e from the pharmacy

the greatest irony of all the HB 2025 fallout: one way ODOT could make up for lost gas tax revenue is by implementing tolls, because they already have the statutory authority to do that from HB 2017

everyone comes home empty handed, cumulative hundreds of lay offs across city/county/state/transit departments. Catastrophic

the rules committee has finally been called to order, the governor is testifying. asking the committee to pass the -3 amendment to HB 3402 because of ODOT accountability and to avoid an immediate reduction in ODOT capacity

This is wild- I thought 'Meek succumbed to misinformation' was overblown but it seems pretty obvious this is the case?! And then he doubled down when called out?

senate republicans announcing unanimous opposition to HB2025

absolutely not. if the leg won’t pass HB 2025 she needs to call a special session.

officially over 100 comments in just a few hours, nearly unanimously opposed to the oregon legislature giving up on transportation funding

Nearly 90 people have submitted testimony on HB 3042 in the past few hours. The only one in support is ODOT.

one thing you can't entirely blame oregon democrats for is that the tax revolt era supermajority requirement for new taxes is working as expected to sabotage any attempt to raise new revenue for the state
