It’s true, we do love the stories after the fact.

My mom is too empathetic of a person to support this shit, and my dad is too Jewish to not understand what fascism looks like.
I don’t know what to do, but I don’t want to talk to them at all.
And it fucking hurts.

Maybe fair, maybe not, but emotionally I’ve been shifting the blame onto them for voting Republican. I’m unable to ignore our descent into a fascist dictatorship… and I don’t want to speak to my parents because of it.

Success! ICE was forced to leave their hotel in the middle of the night after activists located where ICE was staying and surrounded the hotel with a noise demonstration. Hundreds of drivers joined in by blasting their horns as they drove by. Hotel management asked ICE to leave. #NoSleepForICE

I’m still in the same mode I have been since 2020: until Team Cherry announces something, I’m not going to get any kind of hype.
If they do today, cool. If not I’ll have already forgotten.

-snrk- I am the exact opposite. Instead of hitting Caps Lock, I just hold the shift key with my pinky all the way through whatever I’m yelling.

So now things are slowly creeping up in price by necessity supported only by the excessive cost cutting that keeps wages low, so that nobody has any extra disposable income because things are getting more expensive…

I still contend that games getting more expensive wouldn’t be a problem if wages had kept up as well. Adjusted for inflation, gaming is the cheapest it’s ever been. But wages have NOT kept up with inflation or cost of living, and there’s no more scraping the bottom that capital can do to lower costs

For me, it was Gundam Wing. They had those sick minute long commercial break stingers for it.

The thing in the NYT story about he gets tipped off about federal drug tests ahead of time is eyebrow raising, not because it's surprising, but it's surprising they have that sourced well enough to actually print it. It's a very serious accusation that implicates many others in serious crime

✅zero knowledge of the actual task
✅total confidence in their ability to improve performance on the task with generic tech tooling
✅no interest in the possibility of negative externalities
✅team morale and cohesion all centered on a personality cult ✅give up and move on as soon as it gets old
