These are my contribution to the art exchange I'm coordinating. Everyone shares six original pieces and gets six different pieces in return. We had 8 participants including myself, I will be mailing out the envelopes soon!

Today is practice... today is a chance for folks who feel helpless to do one thing for one day. Will this make a big difference... no. But neither will getting out of the house and walking around the block. At first. But keep going over time, gradually doing more, will create change.

Also, it will not look *exactly* like this once I actually carve the block and print it... this was just to test the counterchange effect. Figured a second more detailed drawing took less time than carving/printing, to try out the idea

It is likely that the folks who might want to participate in my Making Art For A Change will also know the quote...

once our weather becomes less stormy, I will head over to the art store and get some linoleum that is big enough for this print.... most of my block prints are usually about 2cm (¾") square, this will be about 10cm x 15 cm (postcard size)

it is always a good day for looking very closely at mosses

The last two years I have coordinated an "Advent of a Better Year" swap; participants send in 31 tiny gifts and get a box of 31 different wrapped gifts, one to open for each day in December. This will be the third year - not going to give up on sharing beauty and whimsy with the world.

I'm not taking it anywhere until the weather is less fraught. Stay warm and safe my dear friends!!

Oh gosh, that is awfully sweet! I figure that getting bike to mechanic doesn't need to happen until the weather is a bit less fraught! Stay warm and safe my friends!! I'm currently cooking down onions in butter to combine with homemade broth for soup tonight. Kitchen smells wonderful...

Thankfully I was completely unharmed, just dreadfully startled, and it was mid-afternoon so I was able to get home while it was still daylight.

Instead I walked it home, slowly, as the rear wheel is also damaged. I was about two miles from home when this happened. Now I'll need to find someone with a truck or large van to give it and me a ride to the bike mechanic.

I am already following you, and just did my first ever repost to share your generous offer...

Oh my! Hope that helps you heal well and thoroughly.

what I've done is to click the one of two headers at the top of the page... "Following" shows me only what people I have chosen to follow have been posting. "Discover" shows all sorts of random stuff. I never go there.

I hope whatever germs have grabbed you lose their grip as soon as possible

I suspect you need a window that gets sunlight... not all windows do. I can't even grow house plants in my windows

I did a lot of research to choose the best option. Milliput was a bit hard to find, no one in the city carried it. I ended up ordering from a gravestone refurbishment company back east, since I do my best to never order from the Big "A" Behemoth

I did a fair amount of research before deciding on what to use. It was somewhat challenging to source, since I try and not order from the Big "A" Behemoth, and no one around here carried it. Ended up ordering from a gravestone restoration company back east?!

I'd already put crab on the list, but I can make sure they are baby crabs... (not sure how/if babies look different than adults?)

I will always and forever miss Livejournal, precisely because there was so much actual interchange between humans. I hope to talk back and forth with folks here, hence I'll post small fragments of Acorn Cottage life as "topics", and find out what follows...

I'm going to do both ideas eventually, just trying to choose which I do first...

I'm more inclined to the lunar animals book first, and to do more research to choose which invertebrates to include. (I know I want pillbugs, and octopi, and bumblebees...)
