Of course it's a good thing to have some local officials acting. But it's FAR from enough. Do you believe these actions are powerful enough to save American democracy? Democrats need a national strategy, not adhoc actions.
comment in response to post
True. He did so many bad things in just a week but the stupid Democrats even don't know what to support and how to resist.
comment in response to post
The majority just don't like undocumented immigrants. The US needs a complete immigration system reform. Democrats should deliver a whole view of the reform.

What do the adults do? It doesn't come from your ideas, it's a FACT. You cannot educate a person who is at the elementary school level with a university-way. They didn't Google Project 2025, they listened to podcasts, read social media posts, while Democrats' strategy made them confused.
comment in response to post
Sorry, I went to her rally and even volunteered for her. This strategy didn't work as it made Project 2025 like an unserious and impractical toy playbook. People didn't know the whole idea there, they only saw the extreme points so they would believe MORE that Trump wouldn't follow it.
comment in response to post
How did she talk about Project 2025? Literally "look at Project 2025". Who could get the point there? Imagine someone told you some person was bad, how would you think of it? "Who's that guy?", "Why?". But Harris left these questions for the voters, let them Google.

In Democrats, few people noticed that messaging can change the course, even make an unpopular policy acceptable. The one I only saw is Bill Clinton who kept telling Democrats to talk to people. The only one who could reason D's policies to people in an understandable way I saw is Pete Buttigieg. 3/3

Somehow like raising the minimum wage. Polls say people agree that we should do that, but when it came to voting in California, it failed. Trump was vague on mass deportation and tariffs, making people believe he was bluffing, as they wanted deportation and tariffs, they voted for Trump. 2/3

The second and the third issues hurt Harris... Trump campaign ran a lot of ads so Trump voters were very aware of them.

The society has a higher manner bar for a woman, while I don't see it applies to a gay man. This can be an important difference.
comment in response to post
I understand your point and I know so many people are worried about it after two female candidates' lost. While my idea is, first, Pete's talent can offset this problem, second, a gay man is still a man, and the bar will be similar to a straight man.
comment in response to post
Have you watched the Pete vs. 25 undecided voters debate? By comparing it with Harris' town halls and interviews, Pete is far better. He didn't dodge questions, he could voice and reason Democrats' ideas in an understandable way, that's exactly what we need.
comment in response to post
Beshear should compete for the KY Senator to give Democrats a better shot in 2026. I watched his speeches when he was the potential candidate for the VP, sadly, I felt he lacked charisma.
comment in response to post
Before 2008, nobody knew how long would it take to elect a black president. Pete is brilliant, I believe him. People will remember his talent instead of his sexuality.

It's better to call Trump inflation, Trump taxes, Trump Amazon goods, Trump cilantrosđŸ¤£.
comment in response to post
This is Biden administration's style. They want to show their neutrality, they make decisions cautiously and slowly. Look at the inflation, border, Ukraine, Palestine, the appointment of Hur, choosing Cannon's district, normalizing Trump... Enough is enough.
comment in response to post
Deporting undocumented immigrants (should have exceptions) but welcoming more legal ones will solve the problem. We can also provide a path for undocumented immigrants to get a legal status. The immigration system should be completely reformed.
comment in response to post
I won't blame her of campaigning with Cheney because at that time Democrats believed the election was about protecting democracy and the unity of the country.
comment in response to post
Because Democrats want to use the cases for the elections. They waited until the midterm to end the Jan 6 investigation, then postponed the prosecution against Trump until the second half of 2023. Make it clear, it's not weaponizing the judicial system unless Trump is innocent but sent to prison.
comment in response to post
It's common sense as an AG doesn't dare to make a decision about a former president without the consent of his boss even if he has that power.
comment in response to post
I don't believe Biden is not involved in these important cases. Can Garland do these things without the consent of Biden? Very unlikely.
comment in response to post
Under the order of Biden.

Many people don't even know how unsafe the US cities are...If you have been to East Asian countries like China, Japan, Korea, you will know what the normal cities are like. And this election clearly shows people don't want to tolerate crimes anymore, even banning slavery is rejected by Californians.
comment in response to post
I volunteered for Harris and I felt the messaging was not good. This time too many voters swung red, so it's not a turnout problem. MAGA movement is fascist, so Democrats should fight hard to protect the country in 2026, 2028, 2030, 2032... until we cure this country.
comment in response to post
Look at our discussion, even I, who leans D, cannot get your position quickly, what about the swing voters? When asked about the border, there's no need to talk about the economy, family separation, etc. Be direct, simple, and explicit, make sure everyone can understand it in 30 secs.
comment in response to post
I saw some interviews with Trump voters and I talked to some. They believe Trump will only deport criminals and a mass deportation is just a bluffing. If Harris can give a complete solution, they can change their mind. Otherwise, they believe Democrats will let more people cross the border.
comment in response to post
If Democrats have some consensus here, why don't we voice loudly? It's not that difficult to give a coherent solution and the solution is more practical than mass deportation. Democrats can win this issue, so there's no need to wait for Republicans' disastrous consequences.
comment in response to post
Lemme give you my answer. We should deport all criminals and accelerate the asylum process, then deport all unqualified people. For other people, give them at least a legal status or a path to citizenship.
comment in response to post
How many criminals are there in millions of undocumented immigrants? I don't think there are a lot. 70% of people say the ones who crossed the border recently should be deported according to your data. Do you have a solution? Your answer is: the hope is on the opponent, not a winning strategy.
comment in response to post
This doesn't explain anything. Why does EU have lower productivity? Why does it have less R&D investment? Is it related to lower labor costs in the US? Is it related to looser regulation here?
comment in response to post
The problem is you have to voice your support for deportation. Did any progressive say that in the election? No. There were millions of people who crossed the border during Biden's administration, how many should be deported? At least, give people an answer.
comment in response to post
No. If you look at the charts, ~70% of people support deporting people who have criminal records or have crossed the border recently. Can progressives explicitly say you support deporting them?
comment in response to post
All over the world = EU. How about China, Russia, India, and so many other countries? EU's GDP was even higher than the US, but is lower than the US now. Is it a positive result? US's GDP per capita is > 80000, EU is > 40000. Have you considered that?
comment in response to post
The majority of people support mass deportation. Do progressives support that? Stop dodging the problems, please. I already knew all the information you listed here months ago.
comment in response to post
Popular, but impractical, so make nonsense.
comment in response to post
Okay, let's give an end to the discussion here. Will progressives change their unpopular positions in the border, crimes, and transgender issues? Like Harris, so many people are just dodging these concerns. "I have good policies" is not a counterargument for "you also have bad policies".
comment in response to post
I'm not here to debate whether Bernie's policies work but I believe Harris is better than Bernie. Of course I'm not the only one.
comment in response to post
Lemme ask, would AOC outperform Harris if she was the candidate this time? Very likely not. The people living in her district know she cares about them, but how about people who live in other states? Will they feel the same?
comment in response to post
Every poll shows the majority trusts Trump more than Harris in handling the economy. Why? And Bernie underperforms Harris this time. It's not about what you propose, but whether people trust you. Also, the progressive ideas in the border, crimes, transgender are too unpopular.
comment in response to post
If you don't look at the unpopular part of the Progressive policies, you'll never understand why people in big cities turned red so much. NY is only Harris+13, it was Biden+23 and Clinton+23. NJ is Harris+6, was Biden+16 and Clinton+14.
comment in response to post
But this round people are talking about the border, crimes, transgender, and inflation. Which of the policies you list is a topic this time? None. Polls show most people like Harris' economic proposals but many of them voted for Trump. Why? Because they have lost the trust for Democrats.
comment in response to post
Because they use xxx-hate or something similarđŸ˜‚.
